Re: Game of Thrones (HBO Sunday nights @ 9PM EST)
I'm at the exact same point...though my excuse is that life has gotten in the way. At least I don't have to wait several years for the fifth book, as it's on my Kindle ready to go.
That being said, after the awesome emotional coaster of 'A Storm of Swords', I can't imagine anything living up to it.Comment

Re: Game of Thrones (HBO Sunday nights @ 9PM EST)
After being mad with what happened to Ned, I decided to read the book and then watch the show. About 300 pages into the book (A Game of Thrones) and I like it better than I thought I would knowing what happens. I grabbed A Clash of Kings as well. Maybe I will finish that one and be ready to watch season 2 when it premiers this spring.Moderator

Re: Game of Thrones (HBO Sunday nights @ 9PM EST)
I've never seen an episode of this show, I found out about this title after finally deciding to look through this thread only a few weeks ago. After reading a description of the show here and there I stopped reading here so I wouldn't be spoiled and I'm now reading the first book. It's great so far and I can't wait to watch the show. I've already got the first season on bluray pre-ordered from Amazon.
My question is, does the first season only deal with events from the first book? I want to know that when I decide to watch the show that events from other books won't be revealed.PS: You guys are great.

Re: Game of Thrones (HBO Sunday nights @ 9PM EST)
A quick question?
SpoilerIs part of the reason the Baelish betrayed Ned, because of all he would've lost with Stannis on the throne. I remember reading at times about how Stannis was aginst the whorehouses, and in their last exchange, Baelish mentioned Stannis selecting his own counsel. I mean, I'm sure there are other reasons as well, but I am reading the books and I found their last little exchange interesting knowing what is about to happen.
Thanks.Moderator
