Yeah, I never come into a TV show thread unless I'm caught up. Most of the time I don't even go into a movie or even a video game thread unless I've seen or played it. It's too big of a risk. :o

Although, if it is any consolation it was spoiled for me as well but, it was because of my own stupidity.

I was a couple of season's behind because I didn't have Showtime and after Season 4 ended we were still on Season 3. Well, Rita always got on my girlfriends nerves and one day I was looking for a gif. of Rita to post on her Facebook. As soon as I googled Rita Morgan "Rita Morgan dead" popped up. Then, I clicked Google Image and a pic of Rita in the bathtub popped up.

yes that did make me feel better, didn't realize you can read spoilers in quotes like that, ****

I was taking about this with my friends and want to know what everyone else thinks.

Is something just... Different or Off about the way the show was taped?
I mean like, cinematography/videography and lighting as well?

It just came off as "Tv show ish" if that makes any sense.
The past 4 seasons, it seemed really well edited and shot, like a movie in a way.
However, this episode just seemed really amateurish.

Not really. Seemed the same to me, but I was watching on a computer screen so I don't know if that helped or not.

Glad that we finally got back to new episodes. I remember when I finished watching Season 4 just thinking how long it was going to be until this episode and now I finally got to see it. Can't wait to see how this season plays out.

You can tell that it has hit the big-time because the camera quality/scenes are much better now.

Great season opener last night!. I like how the show makes you feel Dexter's emotions towards Rita as it shows from the start that there was interest for him with her. Then seeing him have the breakdown in the bathroom was incredible and that rage is back.

This season can go many ways and I'm interested to see what the writers do.

The bathroom scene and then the funeral scene, when Dexter gets out of the car and walks towards everyone, were absolutely incredible.

So glad to have my favorite show back.

Yea the show was very emotional, man it's good to have it back. Another underrated scene was when Dexter was deleting all that stuff off his computer and Deb is telling him all the things he needs to do for Rita and her funeral and he's just listing off the things he needs to do for himself in his head. Shows where his mind is at at that moment in time.

Showtime also posted a censored version on youtube (so basically 75% of what Debra says is silented out). Unfortunatly, this is tied for my favorite show on TV (with House) and I'm unable to see it because it's on Showtime... So lets hope they are nice enough to keep putting up the new episodes!

Last night's episode was good, but just felt like something was off for me. Unless there is some kind of twist with Quinn, I feel like we are treading the same territory with him as we did with Doakes in S1 and S2........if we are, I am not interested in seeing this again unless there is a twist this time where Dexter gets caught because of Quinn. Hopefully I am proven wrong and we will get a masterpiece of a season like Season 4.

Hmmmm.... If Dexter gets caught because of Quinn, wouldn't that make it the last season?

This is a very different situation, because Dexter is now a suspect.

Exactly. This isn't just some hunch one of the cops has; there is a legitimate case that could, easily, be made against Dexter with his "It was me" line, combined with the fact that he IS Kyle Butler and Trinity's family knows that and would probably tell Quinn, etc.

There's a LOT more tension, especially considering that Dexter "can't" kill Quinn because Quinn really hasn't done anything wrong, and there is no Lila to kill him for him this season.
