I was fully expecting it to happen.

Odd thing is, had it did, I will still have been surprised. Dexter would've had to kill the same individual he became so attached to in such a short amount of time, the one person who "saw him for what he was."

But nah, her demon is gone. Yaaaaaaaaaay!!!!!!!

C'mon...

I know.

I mean the scene with her leaving wasn't terrible or anything. It was one of the better scenes this season IMO from Dexter's perspective. But I just think it would have been so much better and more emotional had she turned on him and he had to kill her. It would have made Dexter just that much more ****ed up.

I hope this doesn't change the dynamic on the show

Rumour has it that Hall was banging Julia Stiles. Time line fits. They film these shows in the spring and finish filming around June which means if Hall and Stiles started screwing at that time and Carpenter found out she would have ended the marriage immediately and that would constitute being separated for "some time". Just seems kind of weird that Carpenter (apparently she did the initial divorce filing)could be that cold hearted to end thier marriage right after Hall beat cancer unless there was "good reason".

Makes even more sense because it seems kinda suspicious that they didn't want to announce it until the season was almost over. I guess if they announced it when the season started the possible rumours would have distracted from the episodes especially considering that Dexter and Lumen are involved this season.

Would be pretty funny that if the producers knew about this affair before filming ended and ordered Stiles be written out of the show at the last minute to avoid a sticky situation for next season. It did seem kind of haphazard the way Lumen just decided to leave at the end.

Here's a story with a strong sense of déjà vu. It was just a year ago (and one day!) that news broke that Dexter's longtime showunner/executive producer Clyde Phillips was leaving the series, on the heels of Season 4 ending. Now, the week Season 5 has concluded, Phillip's successor, Chip Johannessen, has made a quick exit from the series after a single season.

Deadline broke the news, revealing that Scott Buck has been named the new showrunner going into Season 6. Buck taking over is a different approach than when Phillips departed. In that case, Johannessen was completely new to Dexter, moving over to the series from 24.

Buck on the other hand is being promoted from within, having been with Dexter as a writer since Season 2. In those years, he's moved from co-executive producer to executive producer and Deadline says he has "great rapport with the show's writers," noting that he had served as number 2 to both Phillips and Johannessen - and that while Johannessen is well regarded, Buck "was ready to take the reins of the series."

On another note, I just realized.....WTF happened to that Latina cop that took over for Deb and turned on her? Another fail in this season's writing?

Yeah, it's crazy because both of those women are neither good looking (IMO) and both are way too skinny/bony. Michael must love the twig women.

Stiles has fervently denied this rumor:

"I have absolutely nothing to do with the split between Michael and Jennifer. We are good friends and enjoyed working together," Stiles, 29, told Us in a statement Thursday.


"This is a personal matter between them, and we should respect their privacy. Although I too prefer to keep my private life private, I felt compelled to dispel the rumors I was somehow the cause for this matter."

Actually a rumor that seemed true was Hall's rather innocuous fixation on Julia Stile's butt. True about Debra's bone butt but not so much with Julia.

With Showtime's Dexter leaving Season 5 with record ratings and getting picked up for Season 6, many fans are wondering (considering how close Dexter comes to being caught) how much life is left in the series? How much longer can Dexter run? Today, at the Television Critics Association Press Tour, Showtime's President of Entertainment, David Nevens, talked about his feelings surrounding the Bay Harbor Butcher's longevity.

"I think there's a lot of life left in Dexter," Nevins said. "Just, from the numbers, it's up 11% in its fifth season which defies the usual physics of television ratings. I think the audience is still coming to it. It's not a plot driven show. It's, fundamentally, a character-driven show. A lot of the show is the tracking of his evolution and in the maturation of Dexter he's barely an adolescent. In the way I watch the show. It's been picked up for one more year, but I personally believe there's life beyond that."

Yup. Have it more like season one. Let Dexter do his thing without fear that someone is going to catch him for once. That way, if they chose to end the season with Deb finding out, for instance, it'll actually mean something.
