I like him as an actor, does seem like a weird fit but I think he could do it if the script/story doesn't suck

Yeah I remember her in it. I like how the film gave different theories on what may have happened instead of just one.

Seems weird, but I said the same thing about Heath Ledger as The joker, so I'll reserve judgement.

All of a Sudden, I hope Superman beats the literal **** out of Batman.

              Seriously? Ben Affleck?

I wish Affleck would stick to directing amazing movies like The Town.

I'll hold out hope that it's atleast a decent casting choice, but my hopes aren't that high to begin with.

Sounds like they're sticking with the older mid 40's Batman theme

                    Re: Superman Man Of Steel

                    Okay, my thoughts...

It's not as bad as everyone is making it out to be. Going back to Daredevil, I don't think he was the reason it was a bad movie, more than the movie itself. If anything, I think he actually might have been one of the few good things in that movie.

I do hate that they went with such a "name" actor as opposed to going with someone a little more under the radar. This was going to be huge news regardless of who they cast just by association of being Batman, so it's not like they had to go out and get an A-list guy to generate interest or make headlines.

The other reason I don't like that they went this route is that it's instantly a reminder of the dark days of the Batman movies, going with big name actors who weren't necessarily the right guys for the part. That being said, I do think Ben can pull it off. He won't be better than Christian Bale, but I think he'll be acceptable.

Regardless of whether or not this turns out to be complete **** though, I'm just glad we got The Dark Knight trilogy.

Afleck is actually a very good actor, imo. He just made horrible, horrible choices earlier in his career. I think he can pull it off.

And I think they did need a name actor, actually. If it was a straight up Batman movie where the audience would have time to connect with the actor, that'd be one thing. But Cavill is known now because of Man of Steel, so I don't think you could go with a relative unknown beside him in this film.

As it stands now, unless Superman throws Affleck into the sun in the opening scene of the movie, I'll be skipping this.

I think they messed up. I'm pretty sure they meant to announce that Affleck will be replacing Snyder as director.

I don't like the move at all, but what do I know? Maybe he will pull it off.
