    Re: Superman Man Of Steel

    Uhhh ......

Over the weekend the trades reported that Alice Eve, Diane Kruger and Rosamund Pike were all are up for a "MAJOR ROLE" and that it was a non-Lois Lane role for Zack Snyder's upcoming reboot of "Superman." LatinoReview also exclusively learned that Pike, Eve and Kruger were all up for the coveted villain part of URSA.

    Two things have now happened:

1.Diane Kruger has denied (shocker) that she's not involved or was up for any role. While promoting "Unknown" in LA she said "NO" to the Superman rumors, never stating whether it was URSA or anything like that, which means the trades were wrong by saying she was even involved with the project.

2.Looks like Lindsay Lohan is now in talks for "Superman"
That's right folks Lindsay Lohan. Lindsay's people have had multiple phone conversations within the last few weeks with the people behind the new "Superman" reboot, reports TMZ.

The site goes on to say that she is up for a role in the movie and while it isn't Lois Lane, they hear it would be for a "major character."

Lohan is in trouble with the Law again as she is accused of stealing a necklace and this could ruin her shot at the movie.

Personally I don't see how Lindsay Lohan is bondable to be in any movie at this point let alone a tentpole. Didn't she just get out of rehab last month?

That sounds like something Lohan's agent cooked up to keep her in the news. I can't see how Snyder and Co. would even CONSIDER her.

They don'thave to cook anything up to keep her in the news she does a good job of that herself by staying in trouble.

          Hopefully she'll have a crack-addict cameo appearance.

            Re: Superman Man Of Steel

UK magazine SFX managed to grab a few words from director Zack Snyder about the up-coming Superman movie and his personal thoughts on the Man of Steel.

Though he's reluctant to give any details about the film, Snyder explains what attracted him to the project: "My feeling about Superman is that I've been a fan of the character for a long time. But the question for me was always, 'What can you do with Superman in a modern world?' And I think the amazing thing that Chris and David have created, that I'm working on now, and the reason why I was like, 'Yeah, I'll do that,' was that they found that in him. They found the why in him. That's the exciting part for me."

As for how this Superman movie will differ from those that have come before it...

"I can't really talk about that without being kind of specific," says Snyder. "But I can say I think Superman needs to be physical."

I can see it being almost the exact opposite of Superman Returns. 20-30 minutes of origin then full on action for 2 hours. Either that or its going to feel tonally similar to Batman Begins. The 'modern world' comments lean towards that for me.

I just want a brilliant Superman film that does justice to the character and his long history. Man, the pressure on Snyder to deliver is just HUGE...

Superman DOES NOT need to be physical. If they turn Supes into some action type superhero then they've failed a bit in my eyes. One thing that people don't really think about is this, Superman is by and large a pacifist. He doesn't WANT to have to use his strength and brawn the way a lot of other superheros do. The reason Superman fights is not to be pre-emptive or to bring the fight to the evil doer but rather as the last resort because said villains won't have it any other way.

If you're going to do Superman justice in a real world way they should really play up the alien aspect of his character. Superman is an intergalactic refugee. He's not naturally of this earth but lives here because well he grew up and chose to be here. The feeling of personal and cultural isolation is perfect to play up in a way that would make the character relatable to anyone.

I'll take a slightly more physical Sups. I think it can be done in a way that make sense... and I'm a dude, I want some badassness, lol.

Exactly, fighting is a last resource for Superman he is meant to be that point of light that people look to and makes humans be a better race. I also dont care for a super muscular Superman his muscles is not what gives him his strength it's the yellow sun.

If Ursa is in the film as were led to believe I would asume Zod would be in as well. If so I would like to see Charles Mesure play the role. He currently is in the tv series V and looks the part He was born in england and grew up in sydney australia.

And things may be bad enough that he needs to fight in this film. Also, the dude needs muscle. The sun gives him strength, so have him look strong. He's muscular in the comics, and now finally he will be on film as well:
