Re: Superman Man Of Steel
That Singer outline for his Man of Steel sounds pretty cool until Brainiac "possesses" Jason and transforms him into an adult. If Brainiac is ever gonna show up, I'd like it to be familiar to Geoff Johns' most recent Brainiac story.
And the thing with Superman and powers is, technically he doesn't even have them because in his home planet, they don't have any super powers other than being technologically advanced and being a really smart race. His different biology coupled with Earth's lighter gravity and the yellow sun enables him to have powers. Think John Carter from Mars suddenly having "powers" (so to speak).
So in a sense, you can explain Superman having powers scientifically.

Re: Superman Man Of Steel
So, a Youtube comment from the Comic Con trailer led me to the song used in the clip. It's from The Thin Red Line, and it's incredible.

Re: Superman Man Of Steel
That's it right there "iconic and great" ...depending on one's generation, I think there's a certain reverence attached to the John Williams theme, especially if, like me, you grew up on the Reeves' films. That's why you find some people "cling to it no matter what". Personally, I think one could take the Man of Steel trailer and put the Inception theme over it and give it that new generation, darker/gritty edge. I'd love to see somebody do that...Comment

Re: Superman Man Of Steel
Looks like the full length trailer will come in December, attached to The Hobbit.

Re: Superman Man Of Steel
Ok, I'm very skeptical of a Superman movie, but I really liked the trailer they showed before The Dark Knight Rises.
I'm honestly not a big superhero kinda guy, but the Dark Knight series was just so well done, I feel like I should trust Christopher Nolan.NFL: Bills

I was just thinking about different things that's going to be in the upcoming movie, like the heavy military involvement, Dr. Hamilton and S.T.A.R. Labs will be featured. What if one of the military persons in this movie is Hank Henshaw? If he is severely injured by Zod in a battle and the only way to save him is with the help of Dr Hamilton and Lex Luthor. We all know that Henshaw becomes Cyborg Superman, with Lex corrupting him and he having the same powers as Superman but none of his weaknesses it could make for an exciting sequel.
This is a direction that I don't think anyone would expect but might would work. Any thoughts?

Re: Superman Man Of Steel
A couple of different articles recently done. I'm pretty excited about this.
Plus this exciting tidbit. Man of Steel will feature a post-credits sequence, not unlike what Marvel usually does to set up their next films, and that a Justice League member would likely be introduced in it.
Spoilerhttp://www.mtv.com/news/articles/169...superman.jhtml
When "Man of Steel" hits theaters next June, you'll believe a man can fly, and that's all thanks to the convincing work of leading man Henry Cavill.
Speaking with MTV News at the red carpet premiere of "Boardwalk Empire" this week, "Man of Steel" actor Michael Shannon — who plays the villain in the Zack Snyder-directed action film — expressed his admiration for Cavill's work ethic and his amazing transformation into the Last Son of Krypton.

"I always felt like I was in a scene with Superman," Shannon said of Cavill's performance. "I never looked at him and thought that's just somebody trying to be Superman — he felt like the real deal."
Easily one of the most iconic characters in the DC Comics library, if not the most iconic, Superman comes with no small amount of baggage to his name. Christopher Reeve played the role to legendary heights over four "Superman" films of varying quality; even in the lower-grade movies, however, Reeve's turn as Clark Kent was nothing short of revered. Indeed, Reeve set a precedent that Brandon Routh failed to meet in "Superman Returns" in the eyes of many fans. That only puts more pressure on Cavill, the latest to fight for truth, justice and the American way on the big-screen. Based on Shannon's praise, it sounds like fans have little to worry about. Part of what makes Cavill's performance so strong in the "Boardwalk Empire" actor's eyes is the amount of effort Cavill put into getting the globally-recognized superhero right.
"I really admire Henry's work ethic. I really haven't seen anybody in this business work quite that hard," said Shannon. "Obviously it's a tremendous responsibility, and an intimidating one, to wear that suit. But he had the confidence and the work ethic to accomplish it."
"Man of Steel," co-starring Amy Adams and Laurence Fishburne, soars into theaters on June 14, 2013.
LEGO Possibly Unveils 'Man of Steel' Surprise Villain
SpoilerExcept for its Comic-Con footage and first two teasers, Zack Snyder's "Man of Steel" doesn't reveal any other materials that give hints at the plot details of the Superman movie. However, it is now rumored that LEGO has let slip a tidbit about the movie's possible secret villain when unveiling its list of 2013 toy release.
LEGO, which has a licensing agreement with Warner Bros. Pictures and DC Entertainment for "Man of Steel", suggests that [SPOILER ALERT!] Black Zero may appear in the upcoming reboot movie. Courtesy of Brick Set, the toy company reveals its list of movie-themed toys (including "Man of Steel", "The Dark Knight Rises", "Iron Man" and "Spider-Man") that include a playset called "Superman Black Zero Escape".
Though LEGO is the authorized company to release the "Man of Steel" toys, it is still possible that Black Zero will not appear in the film after all. There has been no casting news about the actor who will play the supervillain. The confirmed bad guy for the Henry Cavill-starring superhero movie is none other than General Zod, who will be portrayed by Michael Shannon.
For those who are unfamiliar with Black Zero, the supervillain is described as a space saboteur who is hired to destroy Krypton. He has the ability to create "psycho-molecules" with his mind, which he can shape into any form of matter he chooses. His brain is fitted with a plastic coating, preventing him from being hypnotized.“Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.”

There will be a full length trailer in front of The Hobbit on December 14. I haven't ever seen any of the LOTR movies or know anything about The Hobbit but I might go check it out now.
