Re: LCD or OLED? - The TV Thread
How long do you guys think it will be before you can watch broadcasting stuff in 4k? I have Comcast and it sounds like the only thing in 4k is Netflix and some replay of the Olympics or something but no tv stations. Direct tv i have heard has some 4k but very limited or something.Comment

It should be quicker than the HD switch. Most stuff is already in 4k or even higher resolutions. Everything is digital also. ATSC 3.0 is approved by the FTC, which allows for 4k OTA, and there are some broadcast testing going on.
In the next 2-3 years we should see some stuff.

Re: LCD or OLED? - The TV Thread
Dont they already shoot everything with 4k cameras, it seems like formatting and bandwith would be the only issues. Can coax cables even do 4k?Kenny: Ok Vic, I'm ready for some girl on girl action.
Vic: No Kenny, that's girl versus girl.
Kenny: What's the difference?
Vic: Well, in one, one girl wins. In the other....
Kenny: Everyone wins?!?!

Re: LCD or OLED? - The TV Thread
I just ordered the 75" Samsung Q9FN today. However, I'm having it being delivered to my new apartment in Austin, TX in July. Really excited about this one, especially based on the reviews Rtings gave it.
The Samsung Q9F is the brand's highest-end QLED LCD TV and offers excellent performance for mixed usage. In dark rooms, the high native contrast ratio and great ...

8.3 TV Shows

Out of curiosity, what made you go with this one over an OLED? I was looking at the LG C8 series, and was wondering which you would recommend?
(BTW, I'm looking at the 65" so both models have the same size whereas the LG doesn't have a 75" which may or may not have been your reasoning. I'm also going to be waiting a bit until the prices come down a little)
Thanks!MLB: Pittsburgh Pirates, Colorado Rockies

NHL: Pittsburgh Penguins
NBA: Denver Nuggets, Orlando Magic

Re: LCD or OLED? - The TV Thread
I know we have a lot of experts in here so I figured I'd ask.
I need a TV for my front porch we are fixing up so I can sit out there this summer and watch baseball and maybe play some video games. but I don't need a 4K set. I was looking at the TCL Roku on Amazon, found a 40'' 1080p for $229. I'm think that will be fine for what I need, I've heard they are good TVs. Or is there something else in that price range that is a must get?
Thanks.Comment

Rtings.com actually did a review of these which I was surprised to find - https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/tc...080p-2017-s305 - got a pretty decent reflections score which is probably the most important thing. Your next best bet would be to find someone selling an old set for super cheap.Comment

Re: LCD or OLED? - The TV Thread
I can get the LG 65 B7 for $1700 with free shipping and no tax. I’m extremely tempted. Just scared about all the stories I’ve heard about burn in.

Re: LCD or OLED? - The TV Thread
For that price I would do it. I work from home so my TV is basically on from 8 in the morning to 12:30 at night. I have had the B7 since August and I haven't seen any burn in.Comment
