Don't know if the fireplace one is worth it, mainly if those fireplaces end up going, it just becomes a regular expensive tv stand. Sounds unsafe having a TV directly on a fireplace, but clearly if they sell them it must be fine?

    That is nice!

I might just get one later on. Maybe November. Definitely would have to have it shipped. I'm sure it'll come with comments from others about me spending so much on that thing, not knowing how much it actually costs relative to a regular old TV stand lol.

A basic tv stand for some 50 inch screen is at least $150 CDN from what I see. I'm talking ones which have shelves below and the bottom of the TV is probably 3-4 feet off the ground.

$150 for that, $350 for one with fireplace. I guess in Canada the 2nd option is better seeing how the fireplace would be used for almost half the year.

Re: LCD or OLED? - The TV Thread

So my Sony XBR850c I've had for over 3 years crapped out recently. A new Android OS update put the TV into an infinite loop. The TV is so bugged out that I can't even perform a hard reset to bring it back to factory settings. The TV is bricked and Sony has no solutions. I'm never buying a Sony TV again until they get rid of Android OS.

I needed a new TV and I found a deal for a LG C9 65" for $1900 so I pulled the trigger. I've had the TV for a few days now and my God this TV is simply amazing. It is just so far and beyond in picture quality from any TV or monitor I've ever owned. The contrast and color is just out of this world. I almost feel happy that my previous TV broke down.

OLED is a problem as long as ABL is still an issue.

It might not be an actual fire, but it still has heat and variable heat settings on the fan.

So it finally happened, TV went down. Last HDMI available went out, already was working with only 1 and now the other went out. I think I'm going to replace the logic board. Has anyone in this forum has done this before? I know there are online videos or whatnot but any first hand knowledge/tips are welcomed.

Nice TV. I’m a Sony loyalist and I’m weighing that one at 85” or a 65” master series OLED. The new ones are priced like cars, and one of the reviews actually has a guy buying them for his yacht. Yeah.

What do you lose with 85”? I’m all about quality but I’ve also never had one that big so I’m curious. The 65” is still $3.8K so it’s not cheap either, and burn in worries me at a price like that.

                            Thoughts?

I wouldn't be worried about burn in, I do a lot of gaming on my 65" A9F. Comparing the X950G to the A9G, you're biggest difference is going to be Contrast, so if you're looking for the best black levels, go with an OLED.

I was looking at the A9G, so that’s great to hear.

What about resolution in the big TVs? Would I notice motion blur or resolution flaws more on the 85”?
