Thinking of getting the C9 for the living room and upgrading from my ks8000. I can get it for $1700 for the 65 inch version. The only thing stopping me is my 2 kids whom both game sometimes and the scare of oled burn in even.

If you’re worried, just get the 5 year protection, if buying from Best Buy

TCL 8 Series announced as a Best Buy exclusive. 1st LCD to market using Mini LED's.

Coming in 65 & 75 inch. Starting at $1,999. Full Array Backlight with Local -Dimming with 1000 dimmable zones. As well as Quantum Dot Tech aka QLED. You also get Dolby Atmos sound as well as a dedicate auto switching Game Mode with Low Latency.

Last year's model had a Latency under 20ms which really good for gaming

I am a big fan of Local Dimming LCD Tech and definitely have this on my radar

So here is the update that everyone has been waiting (and by that I mean no one):

I ordered my Plasma A board unit. Of course it turns out that they sent me a defective one. I returned it.

Got a new one today, set it up and...it worked! I'm beside myself, you never truly know when doing something like this if it is going to work or if you are just delaying the inevitable (which you are anyways).

                I'm on cloud 9.

                I love you TV

So lets watch some movies shall we.

I moved into a new house a few months ago with TV mounts already installed in the wall so I asked the previous owner what size TV they have and it was the same as mine, 55". Do most mounts have a model number on them? Or how can I tell how big of a TV my mount can hold? I want to upgrade my main TV to 75" sometime in the next 6 months but only if this mount can handle it.

They should have a model # somewhere. Weight generally isn't an issue as long as the mount is in at least 1 stud. So I would check that first. Then you need to know the vesa size the mount can support and then the tv vesa size. Without a model # you will need to measure mount brackets and convert to mm to determine the size standard it supports.

If you can't figure it out, I would look to just buy a new one and replace it. I've used ones from monoprice and have ones from Sanus one my big TVs now as I needed the easy adjustments. Monoprice is cheap, but great quality and lasted for years with no issues at my old house.

Picture Quality. Input lag is higher than the LG, but I also have a 55” MU8500 that I primarily game on.

I purchased an LG B7 OLED back in 2017 and got the three year extended warranty.

When I first bought it, I noticed some vertical banding and a bit of yellow tinting on the left side of the screen. As the year went on, it started getting worse. So I called LG and put in a claim. I never acted on it because life got in the way (newborn baby, work, etc).

Fast forward to two months ago. The tv now in its extended warranty stage, and me with a bit more time on my hands, I decide to try and get this problem fixed. Long story short, the store I bought it from picked it up and had the panel on the tv replaced. I got it back a couple of weeks ago, and while the banding was a bit better, the tinting on the left side of the screen was 200% worse. Instead of just yellow, I’ve got a combination of red and yellow.

So I furiously call the store back, only for them to tell me there is nothing they can do at this point. That my best bet would be to contact the warranty company on my own. So I did. And now I’m in a battle with them. They’re saying that vertical banding and tinting on an LG OLED is not considered a defect. Then what the hell is it!? I’ve seen people from the OS forum as well as other tv forums get a total replacement for less than what I have going on.

Does anyone have any recommendations on how I could win my case? What may have worked for you? We’ve been going back and forth by email, and the guy at the warranty company has basically told me to call LG myself because he’s closing my case.

Any help would be appreciated as I’m at a loss. I thought the whole point of purchasing an extended warranty was to have someone, AKA a warranty company, fight to protect your investment.

The warranty company is The Walker Group. In Canada, I believe.

An update on this situation. My local electronics store has finally approved partial credit for a new tv.... three months later.

They will take back my defective B7 and sell me a C9 for $1,000 tax in CAD. Or an E9 for $1,600. I’m good with that, even though my extended warranty should have covered this.

Looking for your recommendations here. Is an E9 worth the extra $600? I’m ready to spend that, but need to know if it’s really worth it. From what I’ve read, audio is better on the E9.

The E9 has a ****ty soundbar and picture on glass. Same panel, get the C9.
