Yep. I'm set for a few years hopefully. I have 2 older TVs, 1 ancient DLP. It still works and isn't used a ton right now. Hopefully it makes it until these are out and normally priced. Then I'll move my main TV to replace the DLP and get one of these.

This is my point, a lot of people buying TV based on NAMES only. Their are budget TVs out here that are rivaling Expensive sets. To much brand loyalty, when there less money to spend with same quality. I stopped breaking the bank a long time ago, no TV is worth $3000 to me, don't care what it does, it better making me breakfast.

We are more just lucky that pretty good TVs are available at cheaper prices.

Not sure who you are dealing with, call center in India, etc, but your best hope is to reach someone in the corporate office. I had an issue with Squaretrade. I've had no problems with them previously, replaced a TV because the parts were on backorder. Then I sent my tablet in because the battery was swelling. 1st they just sent it back, then replaced it without telling me on the 2nd try with one that had the same issue. Call center people were trained to just get you off the line, promise callbacks, etc. Don't have power to do anything money related or requiring thinking.

I found their corporate # and after a few transfers, got a manager and he reviewed the case and promised to call me back. Got a callback a few hours later and had a check on the way to replace the item. I was out the warranty cost, but that's what I bought it for.

Edit- looks like this the the correct company that is owned by the Walker Group, but check the #s and addresses.

Search for emails of the C Suite, but start with customer relations director or something like that. Then go to the top. You can usually find an email address or 2 and the figure out the rest for the person you want to contact. Usually they have people respond to emails or at least direct it to the right people to resolve it.

Thank you very much for looking into things. I will definitely consider doing this.

Oh and just to be clear, I paid $3,000 Canadian. Which amounts to somewhere around $2,260 USD. Still a lot of money.

Another thing to try if you used a credit card is the warranty you get there. It depends how old it is, but generally you get 1 additional year of manufacturing warranty on it. You may have to wait until the 1st year is up, but then you can work with the credit card company and not the TV manufacturer or additional warranty company.

If possible, I buy everything on my credit card to get those benefits. It's saved me a bunch of money on warranties and replacements.

Projection TV for basement. I'm tempted to do it by Christmas. Although it would be replacing a big LED one which doesnt have much need to be replaced (although that LED would replace a cheaper one on a diff floor).

2 HDMI ports is really all I need. Probably should read up on lumens. And what's the difference between some projectors which are $150 vs $300 vs $600 and so on.

              Any advice?

First off, room size? How big of a screen are you wanting to do? Budget? What have you looked at so far?

It's a small section I'd be using for this, so it's probably 10 feet from the chairs to the TV, and the table I'm probably putting the projector is maybe 15 feet away from where I'd have the screen. Probably 100 inches or so screen (I'm not screwing on a screen to the wall, so I'd probably just get one with the tripod stand).

Under $300 I'd say. I see ones around that much on Amazon, but I go to Best Buys site and they all seem to be at least several hundred, so maybe I have no idea what I'm looking at on Amazon?

I haven't looked at anything really minus just seeing how much they go for on Amazon. There seems to be so many different kinds, all saying basically same things despite being different prices, so it's hard to narrow them down except knowing I need 2 HDMI ports on the projector.

Realistically though, I'm probably gonna go through all this just to settle on some $350-400 50 inch TV for upstairs and keep my bigger basement one.

TCL and Sharp are the 2 main ones I see for that price and size.

I'm on a budget (under/at $1k). I only play MLB The Show 19 (90% of the time); Uncharted Series (10% of the time) on PS4 Pro

I'm upgrading from an old LG 55 inch 1080p LCD and looking to upgrade to a 65 inch, 4k HDR, native 120hz refresh rate model. What would you recommend:

                      hisense h9f 4k tv
                      https://www.amazon.com/Hisense-65H9F...=operasport-20

--saw the good words earlier in this thread about the H9F

                      Vizio P659-G1 Quantum
                      https://www.amazon.com/VIZIO-Quantum...=operasport-20

--read that IGN recommended the P659-G1 at some point for gaming

I'm not locked into a 2019 model, so maybe there's a slightly older OLED, QLED out there?..probably not though for my size/price range desired. Any other recommendations for other models around this price range, I'll take that too. I shop at Costco a lot and see many Tvs...maybe there's a hidden gem there? This is for a medium size living room...would play / watch streaming devices (or from TV if it has apps) from about 10 ft.

                      Thanks ahead of time.

For under a 1K, Hisense or TCL all day. Especially if you want 65 inches for under a grand.

                                Eventually, maybe.

Motion, uniformity, upscaling to 4K of lower resolution source material (such as compressed 720p cable signals), viewing angles, the organic look of plasma RGB phosphors versus the somewhat artificial look of the filtered WOLED technology... these are all issues. For me, motion is the biggest one. Plasma is still the unrivaled king of this, especially for film IMO.

Instead of getting a panel, I might just get a projector. If it weren't for power consumption and cost though, we would have 4K plasma panels at least attempting to compete, and then I would be in heaven. I'm honestly just going to wait for mainstream 8K though, regardless... but for now, my Sammy plasma screens live on.
