I came to share my story here to see if anyone had similar problems with their warranty company, and how they may have dealt with it.

Who is the warrany company then?

TCL 8 series and 8K coming later this year.

      <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/ahv1g0BfaPk" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe>

65 inch going to be $1,999

75 inch going to be $2,999

Those are going to be the only 2 sizes and they will be QLEDs.

Assuming that's Canadian. Did they see the pics and say it's not covered?

          I mean that's just ridiculous.

If they won't replace it I would social media blast them. Not sure if you guys have something like the Better Business Bureau in Canada, but if you do I would contact them as well.

That is totally unacceptable that they are saying that isn't worthy of being repaired or replaced.

I believe it’s a Canadian company, or at least they service people in Canada. And yes, they saw the pictures and told me that banding is not a defect and that it can be found in all tv’s, in some form or fashion.

That’s a good idea about blasting on social media. Even better on getting the Better Business Bureau involved. I’ll check my options and may even use it as a threat to them before I go ahead and take action.

They probably won't care. BBB is usually terrible ratings for these companies or they just need to post the warranty terms and you have no claim.

Not sure who you are dealing with, call center in India, etc, but your best hope is to reach someone in the corporate office. I had an issue with Squaretrade. I've had no problems with them previously, replaced a TV because the parts were on backorder. Then I sent my tablet in because the battery was swelling. 1st they just sent it back, then replaced it without telling me on the 2nd try with one that had the same issue. Call center people were trained to just get you off the line, promise callbacks, etc. Don't have power to do anything money related or requiring thinking.

I found their corporate # and after a few transfers, got a manager and he reviewed the case and promised to call me back. Got a callback a few hours later and had a check on the way to replace the item. I was out the warranty cost, but that's what I bought it for.

Edit- looks like this the the correct company that is owned by the Walker Group, but check the #s and addresses.
              https://www.bbb.org/ca/bc/west-vanco...224917/details

Search for emails of the C Suite, but start with customer relations director or something like that. Then go to the top. You can usually find an email address or 2 and the figure out the rest for the person you want to contact. Usually they have people respond to emails or at least direct it to the right people to resolve it.

I saw this that Samsung is going to be making Quantum OLED panels:

If you love the way OLED TVs look, but have always been put off by the price, Samsung's latest announcement should give you hope: The company plans to start making QD-OLED TVs, which marry the advantages of QLED and OLED into a single TV. Apart from better TVs, the move could bring us cheaper OLEDs too.

Could make things more interesting going forward.

Except I would not want the 1st or maybe even 2nd gen version of the QD-OLED. Good to see them making this change though. We'll still have probably 1-2 more years of QLEDs.

I'm thinking of upgrading my 2016 Samsung KU6300 60" (yeah it was pretty cheap, I think $599 or so), it's 4k and HDR-ish (not a ton of range) to the LG B6 that's on sale on Dell right now for $1k. Any thoughts?

No doubt. Apple has made me unwilling to be a 1st gen guinea pig on most expensive things.

Hard pass. Get a C9 instead. No less then a 8 series OLED or you will find yourself upgrading again in a couple of years. That isn't a sale at Dell, that is years old stock they trying to empty out of their warehouse.

You can get a B9 at Best Buy for $1,449 right now.

No way, The 6 series OLEDs by LG were extremely suspectible to burn in.

Makes sense, I read some of the burn-in reviews on BB and some other sites. I think I'll sit back and wait.

Finally, QD-OLED is coming to light!

That is the only panel technology I'd be interested in getting in the near future. Been waiting forever, and still may have to wait several years more... but at least it's good to hear they haven't abandoned it.
