Re: LCD or OLED? - The TV Thread

Thanks for the tip on the models I've got them wrote down so I'll continue to do research. Let me know of any other brands / models that would also work. Since its nothing I need right now I'm able to wait for a sale if I zero in on a TV.

I don't see any advantage using 2.0 when the tv will have 2.1

I don't think Freesync will be that big of a deal since C9 has Gsync.

The third one may be a difference but I'm not that tech savvy to know what it means.

I thought CX biggest feature was actually a 48" model

I’ve had the C9 for over 2 months and love the tv. Like you said it’s 2.1 which will have VRR, 4K 120fps and auto latency mode which is great. I got the tv for a great price and don’t think the difference with the CX is enough for me to get it, especially given the price.

I plan on purchasing the 65" in the coming months, coming from a 55 B6

So my 6 year old broke my 55" TCL tv yesterday :-(

I'll be replacing it in the next week or two....Just confirming that there's no way to repair when the screen's cracked and not working right, correct?

Might throw it out there that I'm willing to go to 500 for a tv. Costco had the TCL 6 series 65" out of stock for 499 and that seemed to be my best value, but thought I'd see if anyone here knew of any deals that would be a good bang for my buck. I'm willing to drop to 55", but putting this tv in my bedroom to protect it and moving our 47" to the danger zone lol. Costco has the 55" for 399, but figure if i'm going that the 100 is worth it.

          Thoughts?

Can also do this 65" Vizio for 499 and looks better to be honest. Is it decent?

The upscaling on Vizio isn't very good. Only Vizio worth doing is the PX.

Gotcha...and i know those are out of my price range lol. Wasn't expecting to have to get a TV, and my parents were owing me some cash to buy something for my birthday. I'll keep thinking then, thanks for the input. Hoping that TCL comes in stock too.

I'm think I'm almost sold on the C9. But the permanent burn-in chances concern me some.

I wouldn't be concerned, if you're worried. Buy it from Best Buy, and get the protection.

My C9 is used everyday for gaming, streaming and cable for hours. The tv has no burn in. I think it’s something you don’t need to worry too much about.

Thanks for helping me dodge the Vizio. The 65" Series 6 TCL came in stock for 499 so pulled the trigger. I did like the last one until my son was crazy, and best bang for my buck right now.

Now I wait until April 2nd for delivery because CORONA lol. Not sure it was even in my store anyways, but a pain getting that big of a tv in my van with kid seats.

I could have...but our Costco is crazy and might not have been in stock anyways. And my daughter is immunocompromised due to her meds, so we're just being a bit cautious about going out when needed. I called once and they didn't know if they had it, and we can deal with waiting. My old 37" is in living room until i move the bedroom one down there so if it's broken it's not a fancy one lol
