I think I missed what the primary reason you want the TV for. Like Scott said, at that price you will have to go down to 55". And if your primary use will be for gaming, that's plenty for size. I have a LG C1 55" as my primary TV for everything. It's more than enough for gaming imo. And Movies look great too. But I guess it all depends on how far you wanna sit from it. I'm about 6 feet away.

I'm considering a 42" C2 to replace my monitor for PC gaming. That's out of your $600 price range though. I think you are stuck with either the TCL 6 series, or the Hisense U8G. Honestly don't think you can go wrong with either.

I'm definitely looking at the 55 inch C1. I was originally thinking the 48 inch. But for only a few hundred more, I rather go the bigger route. I doubt there might be any black friday/holiday sales, but I'll wait to see if there is or not. I kind of wanted to jump on the July sales where the 48" went down to $799 I believe. But it didn't make sense at the time to do so. And they haven't even been in stock ever since. I'll play the waiting game, but that's the TV I definitely want.

You are getting close to where Best buy and others will start to match a price drop throw black friday.

Yeah. They had one for the month of July, then has been out of stock ever since. The Black Friday sales usually happens early November. I'm still somewhat hesitant, not because of price. I'm just never comfortable spending money like that on myself. But, that'll be the only major thing I get this year and I have been putting in a lot of OT since the summer. Plus I would have to figure out what I'll do what my current room TV. The plan is to give it to my stepson, whenever he finally wants to grow up and leave the nest.

So far, the 48" went on sale, but I didn't check the 55". Currently $1199, which I can definitely do. But, I do want to see if it drops. The lowest I would expect is $999 $for the 55inch, which I would do because after the warranty, it'll bring it back to just over the original sticker price without the warranty

I had a 65" TCL S546 for a few months and I didn't hate it. If you go down to 55" you can get a better TV in the R646. At that price 65" is gonna be your max, plus there is literally no good 70". It's a dead size.

Damn, I remember when the C1 in 77 inches was $2200 on sale. They’ve gone back up. Hopefully I can find one around that price again.

It's following the same thing the CX did. Hit rock bottom, and then one day they were more expensive than the C1. I told my buddy to look at a C1 last night and the 65" is $2,199. There are still two left at my local store so I don't understand why they aren't cutting even more. Unless there is in-store clearance I can't see online.

It is $1360.00 through the LG partners site though.

Re: LCD or OLED? - The TV Thread

I'm in the process of buying a new TV for the basement. I used to have a C9, but moved it to the living room upstairs. I sit about 10 feet away from the TV area in the basement, and I can't decide between the 77" LG C2 and G2. I'm in Canada, and the price difference is just about $2,000 (which is ridiculous).

I've been doing my research, and I'm seeing a lot of comparisons that say the G2 is quite a bit brighter, especially for gaming and HDR mode; which is what I will use it for the most. I just don't know if it's worth the extra $2,000. Spending over $6,000 on a TV is a tad too much, but I also want to make sure this thing lasts for a good amount of time. Also, the G2 seems to have a 5-year warranty that comes with it, so that is a plus; and the heatsink sounds nice.

Any help to guide me in my decision would be appreciated.

G2 if you want the better brightness for movies/shows.

I was afraid you might say that, haha. Trying to justify the additional $2,000. At least the G2 comes with a 5-year warranty, but who knows what that really covers. And it already has what seems like a decent TV bracket. That's a good $1,000 right there for both of those things...

If anyone is still looking ad mid-range TV's, I had my dad go with the TCL 6 series and he loves it. It really does look fantastic. Looks like he won the panel lottery as well.

The black levels kinda shocked me at how good they were. And it looks great our of the box. Only thing I did was turn up the backlight on movie mode.

He still hasn't gotten to use his C1 yet, which is at their place in Texas they haven't moved into yet, and his old TV was a Vizio 1080p, so he was pretty awestruck when I showed him 4K DV content.

For $600ish, for the 55", seems like a great TV.

If you wanted a good deal on a TV, today is the day. Best Buy, Amazon, Walmart, Target, etc. got big sales going on. Some really good deals, even on their high end TVs.

I'm seeing the C1 65" is on sale on Amazon from $2499 to $1495. That's a great sale for anyone that's interested.

I'm still debating whether I want to get the C1 48" or 55. It would replace a 49" in my bedroom. I might stick with the 48" because I'm perfectly fine with the 49". Plus, the 48" is the one that has the sale. The C1 at those sizes have been out of stock since July. I don't feel comfortable ordering from Amazon. Right now the 48" is $896 when in stock. But I will wait until next month because in July it.went down to $799, if it becomes available. Only reason I probably won't get it is because I don't have enough time to really enjoy it.
