With the picture it has will it be that big a difference without Dobly Vision? Crazy it has Dobly Atmos but not Dolby Vision

Well you’re talking about dynamic metadata vs Static. If you watch a lot of stuff on Netflix and Disney Plus, there’s a lot of DV content on there.

Ok cool thanks, got it and setting it up now, yeah I watch a lot of stuff on Netflix and Disney but figured I haven't had Dolby Vision on my old Samsung it and looked pretty good so I'm sure this is going to be much better so I'll be good. Think I'll get a Squaretrade Warranty

Have it set up, played a little NBA 2k23 and COD..watching Yellowstone now and man this is looking so good. Can't imagine how much better it would be with Dolby Vision but I think I'll be alright without it.

The sound is really good also, it's early but so far so good!

Is it overall a lot better than the c2? I want a 75 inch tv or bigger for my man cave. Sadly, this tv doesn’t come in bigger sizes.

I just got the S95B in the 65 inch size. In game mode the colors seems too saturated. Anyone have any decent game settings they can recommend?

Got the 55" with the Samsung epp discount that stacked on top of the Blackfriday price somehow. I couldn't pass it up at that price even though I was planning to just get a B2 or C2.

Check your employer benefits and whatever discount site you use. Then add to cart and it should adjust the price lower if it is still going on.

Picked it up from Bestbuy but have to wait on some electrical stuff to come in as I need to put a new recessed outlet and media box to hide stuff behind it.

It was around $1,100. So ~$350 off the blackfriday price.
                  65" was around $1,450.

You should be able to get a price match if you chat.

I have to see if I get a discount from work but I got on chat with someone and they said they couldn't do anything till after Nov 28 on price match if I do get a discount. Have to make another account using my work email to see if I can get one but will check it out next week.

So after trying out the s95b for 2 days I’m going to be returning this set. Overall, I understand the hype with this tv. It’s bright and the colors “pop” but it comes at a price. When you’re like me and prefer a calibrated imagine over a saturated one you’ll notice the limitations in this set. For gaming this tv is great, but I can’t say the same for movies and sports. Once you calibrate the image for movies you’ll see how bad it handles shadows and it’s no longer bright. I can see how this tv can wow many but it’s not for me. I’m taking it back and getting a C2 instead.

When I step into the OLED ring it'll definitely be QD-OLED. It sounds like the Sony A95K is better for movies though (not as bright, but better color accuracy, shadow detail, and motion). I'm hoping they continue to work more toward catering to film rather than just making a bright, vivid image pop.

Still not ready to jump in yet though. My Sammy plasma is still alive and kickin' 23000 hours later.

I’m going to tinker with the settings and see if I could get the picture better for movies. For games this tv is amazing. The problem with the Sony is the gaming features aren’t great and the price is a bit ridiculous. I will say though that I trust Sony a lot more with their picture processing as opposed to Samsung. Even when you look at Samsung’s phones the screens are meant to just pop at the expense of accuracy. Will give the tv a few more days, but I’m leaning on getting a 77 C2 for my man cave. I already have a C1 and it looks great. It doesn’t get as bright but a great tv.

Btw: it might be time to move on from plasma bro lol. The jump in PQ Is massive at this point.

That's the one thing I don't get about people calibrating it. With 4k sources, it is just too dark on the LGs and Sony. If you put it on filmmaker mode or one of the other ones, it is just too dark unless maybe you are sitting in a completely dark theater. I also prefer cooler settings though so I know that has some impact.

Most people aren't watching TVs or movies in the dark. I always will prefer more brightness and slightly less color and saturation accuracy versus having a dim or dark picture.

I watch movies in the dark, and mostly watch with dimmer lights in my main room as well. Furthermore, due to my PCS I can't look at intensely bright images for a long time anymore. I love the look of a calibrated set.

I have a C1 in my man cave and a C9 in the living room. I’ve never felt the picture was too dark for movies or sports. I’m gaming with HGIG and some games do look a little dark. Some games I turn tone mapping on because it’s a lot brighter especially with sports games who don’t have specular highlights. I have the new Apple TV 4K and I have everything setup properly on the Apple TV but for some reason it still says Dolby vision on the content on Netflix. It’s almost like the Apple TV 4K isn’t seeing that this tv doesn’t do Dolby vision. As far as colors I cringe with blueish colors and prefer warm 2 on Samsungs or warm 50 on LG oleds. It’s a lot more accurate to the developers intent and I’m just used to it at this point. Like you I also prefer a brighter image but most of my rooms are dark so I don’t have any issues. Overall I prefer the look of a calibrated set.
