My VT30 didn't have the issue as it was an August or later build. An easy service menu check confirmed it. At least Panasonic issued a fix, though, for those that notice it. You'd think such things would happen more often with the ease of firmware updates these days.
Thank you. I happily stand corrected in this case.

Re: Plasma or LCD? - The TV Thread

I'm not sure if this is the right thread, but it's somewhat related...
Does anyone have any suggestions for a good wireless HDMI transmitter?

In my living room, I've been using two sets of component cables coupled together that the cable guy rigged up for me when I first moved into the house. We don't currently have our Blu Ray player in our living room because it's going to be a hassle to run a HDMI cable to the TV. So I thought about looking into getting a wireless transmitter. I would prefer not to spend for $200-250.

edit: I'm also in the market for a wireless home theater system. I hate wires

This option seems to be what your looking for:

        http://www.amazon.com/Wireless-Trans...pd_sim_sbs_e_2

As for the Wireless HTB I'm not sure, but it seems like most Wireless HTB come with BR Players

Is your tv wall mounted? Seems like there should be a cheaper solution than what you're wanting to do.

EDIT: This MIGHT be what you're looking for: http://www.amazon.com/Wireless-Trans...=operasport-20

As for audio, you can go with a soundbar + wireless sub combo or buy a 5.1 setup and get a rocketfish wireless kit for the rear speakers or just go with a 3.0 (no sub) or 3.1 (w/ sub) setup (and just not use the rear speakers).

You definitely want your fronts and center speaker wired.

^ Yeah it's mounted. Here's a pic of my living room before we moved in:

The TV is above the fireplace and the DVR, Blu Ray Player are going to be the bottom of the cabinet. I'm not very handy when it comes to running wire's between walls and stuff like that. The last time I tried I actually made things worse by putting hole in the ceiling, so I'm not looking forward to trying again. We actually had someone come over and give us and estimate about a year ago and he quoted us $1000 to run the HDMI cables and speaker wires

About a week ago, I bought two 50 ft long HDMI cables and was going to attempt to do it myself again. However, this was before I even knew about wireless HDMI, so I'm going to research this avenue before I try again.

where did you plug the tv in?
did you install an outlet above the fireplace??
doesnt the wireless hdmi have lower picture quality??

If i were you, Id try and phish that myself. Its not that long of a run and the wall isnt an outside wall. should be pretty easy.

^^ That picture is from the listing when the house was for sell (we bought it new). When we bought it we had the seller pay for an outlet above the fireplace. The guy who came to do that is actually the same guy who gave me the estimate. Anyway, my TV that I purchased on Black Friday just came in so I'm going to attempt to run the cable myself this weekend. It would probably help if I had the proper tools. Any tips would be appreciated.

all you need is a jab saw to make the holes, and something to phish the cables to the other hole.

i assume you wont be putting up hdmi wall plates??
if you dont run into hitting any studs, your best bet would be to drill 2 1'' holes, and phish the lines from hole to hole.

This is what i did. You can then place a 1" desk grommet over each hole to make it look nice. Might have to wrap some tape around the grommet first to make a snug fit.

IIRC, he's going to be putting the equipment in a cabinet. Where does he cut the "out" hole furthest away from the tv?

There's already a hole at the bottom/back of the cabinet that the cable guy cut. My problem is phishing it through the hole in the attic to the bottom of the cabinet.

It seems to me that your TV is way too high for optimal viewing.

Yeah, it appears that way just from that one picture, though I wonder about the wall opposite the windows. With some good blackout curtains that could possibly be a great option.

But then again, if he is absolutely forced to have it above the fireplace (it just sounds so cliche to even say that out loud) he can get a tilting mount to improve the viewing angle.

The bottom of the TV is about 5'8 inches from the ground and we have a reclining sectional that is about 12-13 feet away from the TV so viewing is not uncomfortable

Yeah, we got it Friday night. I went to the hardware store and bought one of these http://glowrod.showpricenow.com/gb-e...ish-stick.html
They're not really made for HDMI cables, but I improvised with some electrical tape.
I'm still undecided about a surround sound system, but I will probably make a decision within the next week.
