I have had plasmas for 6 years or so now, def better than LCDs for gaming. Beautiful blacks, also I have never once had an instance of IR or burn in that I can recall. I use my tvs quite heavily.

Re: Plasma or LCD? - The TV Thread
I have a now 3 years old LG plasma and love it still.
With a new plasma, you want to lower the contrast to something around 50-60. It probably comes out of the box in vivid mode with a contrast in the 90s.
Make sure most of your content takes up the whole screen. You want the plasma phosphors to age evenly early on. I would stretch 4:3 content so it takes up the whole screen.
Don't leave static images on the screen for 8-10 hours at a time. Might get some IR that will take quite a while to go away.Comment

I keep seeing these blasting outside of Magnolia and wonder if they are priced for their quality as much as for their beauty. I am always fearful of them selling the look of it and not getting your bang for your buck compared to a regular looking tower that's the same price.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: Plasma or LCD? - The TV Thread
The Theos towers have a lot of benefits. They use a high quality Kevlar material which increases power and sound purity. They also use folded motion tweeters, which increase sound quality and performance. The only way to take advantage of them is to use high quality sound equipment. You need a top of the line receiver. I also am a fan of the ESL series, which is a little less, but these towers make the Klipsch Icon series sound like nothing.I keep seeing these blasting outside of Magnolia and wonder if they are priced for their quality as much as for their beauty. Re: Plasma or LCD? - The TV Thread
A. The projector screen is just as important as the project itself.
B. This is Magnolia, a branch company owned by Best Buy, not priced by Best Buy. It's high end product meant for people who want to take advantage of great technology.
It's ok to say it's overpriced because you don't have it, but it still costs less than the 90" Sharp and is going to be just as good of quality as a TV. I'm not one to do things the cheap way, I like to do things the right way the first time around.Comment
