Since when? I tried my damnedest to get them to price match me on a set (offered to pay in cash, too) in the summer of 2011 and they were not having any of it. They said that, "We don't consider Amazon dot com a competitor."

In any event, I refuse to line the pockets of a company that continues to rip people off with thousand dollar HDMI cables. **** Best Buy, or Worst Lie, as I like to call them.

There are protocols I don't like with them, but because of their Reward Zone program benefits, accessibility, and the feeling of walking in and out of there with a purchase (I don't know what it is, but buying a game or Blu-ray in that blue bag sure feels a hell of a lot better than buying it from Wal-Mart) leaves my loyalty with them. I won't buy HDMI cables from them and I'll express my anger with them, but that's a retail store that I want to stay around.

The only reason I didn't buy my TV from Best Buy was because they wouldn't honor the promotion with the free 3D glasses and 3D Blu-ray player (that is, they wouldn't lower their price to what Fry's had, when they were running this promotion and Fry's wasn't, which makes sense but I was told otherwise the day prior to that).

I looking to get an new TV for the bedroom, looking at anywhere between 30" to 40", anyone know and good set, looking to get LED or LCD? Any deals let me know.

I've had the Samsung PN64D7000 (same as Blzer's TV, only I have the larger model) for about 19 months now and I sit about 9-10 feet away and think it is just fine. It might seem like a little much at first, but you will get used to it real fast. Also, I have had literally ZERO issues with image retention, burn-in, etc.

My TV by itself retailed at $3399.99 (which is what Best Buy was charging at the time and refused to go a penny lower) and I got it on Amazon for $2612.43 with a 3D Blu-ray player, 2 pairs of 3D glasses and 4 3D Blu-ray movies. Saying you cannot find a better deal online is just flat out misinformation. I literally saved more than a thousand dollars.

That is no longer the case. Samsung and Sony started a UPP this year and Panasonic and LG somewhat matched it. For current year models, there is 1 price online, in-store, everywhere for any authorized dealer. Non-dealers can sell for whatever, but you usually lose the warranty.

Best buy started price matching Amazon during the holiday season, not sure if it will continue or not though. Also must be an Amazon sold/shipped item, not on the marketplace.

How is the Image Retention with the new Plasmas? I'm reading some reviews that the VT has some retention issues with static images?

If you have a $2500 budget then your best choice is the VT50 65 inch which cost me $2500

If it is to big then go for the 55 incher and use the rest of the money on a nice home theater speaker system.

The VT50 is the best plasma tv this year and it is better then Samsung LED tv's and even their plasma line.

The Samsung plasma line is very good this year but to dim compared to the 2011 samsung plasma model which is brighter and has better color accuracy then this years sammy. The biggest advantage the Samsung Plasma E series has over the D series of last year is the black level being better.

The VT50 is bright for a plasma and has incredible black levels and a great ambient light reflector. After having it for a month the tv just gets better and better in terms of the colors and pq

Lag is worst on samsung tv's compared to panny....I use thx bright room setting on my VT50 for gaming and do not suffer from unplayable lag

Dont go by how the tv looks in best buy. They use vivid mode and the ambient light sucks at best buy.

Once you take home your vt50 and set it up and watch blu rays and game on it you will thank me

I'm sorry but no Samsung plasma can be compared to the VT. There's a reason it is the top rated tv on all of the credible electronic websites.

Like somebody else said they PM Amazon now. They consider that your coupon so you don't get any other in-store discounts. They will honor manufacturer's coupons on top of the PM.

They wouldn't PM Amazon on Dredd 3D AND let me use the $5 U&S coupon. It was either or.

I did get $3 back when Dredd went on sale the next week.

I'm getting real nervous about Plasmas with IR. I'm looking at the Sony HX850 now as well.

I have a great sound set up. JBL speakers 5.2 and just got a new receiver to replace my old Yamaha. My wife would kill be if I told her I wanted to add onto my $3000 sound system. She thinks I'm nuts getting a new TV every 2 years.

Some IR is expected, especially with a new plasma. It just comes with the territory. The good thing is that it is temporary. You just have to use some common sense early on.

LCD/LED is the worry free choice

I am a gamer and play every day COD with HUDS and Madden along with NBA 2K. I have no I.R and trust me I check with my full screen slides. In my previous plasma from Panasonic and Samsung of 2011 they both did have I.R but nothing you cannot fix by running the wipe or slides

Sony tv's are very overpriced and not sure how the lag would be compared to the great gaming set that the Panny is

Among all the games I play, the only game I've ever experienced any IR with is NBA 2k13, mainly because I play it for 3-4 hours every time I play it for some reason. It's an easy fix though, run my anti retention for 15 minutes and I'm good to go. I don't get any when playing COD or Battlefield.

Honestly, whether you go with a VT50 or the 8000 series Samsung, you're going to get a great picture. They're both awesome tv's and will be better than a LCD. You're just going to get a little better black levels with the VT in my opinion. I've done a couple cali's on the 8000 series Samsung and it ends up looking pretty close, but a calibrated VT plasma is remarkable.

Also, another thing to consider is that if you go with a Sony LCD you're going to experience the lag issues most gamers complain about, even sometimes in game mode, which most of the time, cannot be calibrated. There's too many advantages to plasmas at this moment.

I can tell all of you this, OLED's are the real deal. Once they get to a reasonable price range I'll be going with one. 4k's are ok, but there's no advantage to them at this time. If I had my choice between an OLED or 4k, I'd easily take the OLED. We're just getting 1080p figured out and 4k and even 8k are hitting the market. Ugh

Best buy has a 55 inch led 1080p 120hz for 899. Im really leaning on this one this week. Anyone hsve this tv or can tell mr if its a good tv. Im on a 32 inch lcd 720 60 hz. So its s upgrade for me

My guess is you're talking about the Samsung 6000 series tv. Only downside to this tv is that it only has 2 HDMI inputs. I guess it all depends on how or how many devices you are hooking up.

If you're like me, you only need one when your HDMI inputs go into your receiver.

There are other downsides to that TV compared to the 7000 and 8000 series TV's, but if you don't care for the Smart features, I'd try and not pay for what you don't have to use (I don't use them either myself).
