Got BB to price match a Frys.com ad for the un60eh6000 for $899. It's a 2 day sale. Seems like a nice price for a no frills 60" Samsung.

We won't price match a Samsung tv, let alone any purchase from frys.com. It's a website that doesn't allow returns on TVs 26" and larger or something along those lines. Also, Samsung is UMRP.Comment

He works for Best Buy.
And yeah, I was going to say the same thing. You can't say "We don't do this" when obviously he just did it. I know you're referring to policy, but your back-end of your post should have had something more along the lines of, "Interesting you were able to get around that," or what have you. I don't know if you were trying to call him a liar or something lol.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Agree....LED and LCD will always sell more and not because it provides a better picture but because it is bright and that is what the casual no clue people see and love.
Why do you guys think the stores are always setting the tv in vivid torch mode.
A plasma gives you better blacks, realistic color decoding, and big for most great full uniformity which LED and LCD cannot.Comment

And 1080p/24, depending on the TV set. I can't go back when watching movies. There's an annoying flicker/judder when watching normally.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Lol I thought he said "go to" BB for some reason. Either way, must have been a sketchy BB because most stores stick to SOP knowing that Samsung will fine us for doing that, same with Bose.He works for Best Buy.

Re: Plasma or LCD? - The TV Thread
Well, after an evening with the Samsung LED, it's going back to BB. It simply doesn't compare to the Samsung plasma I have. Was really excited about the deal I got and more importantly the 60" size. However, comparing the two isn't even close. After three weeks with a plasma, I'm 100 percent convinced it has a much better overall picture than middle of the road lcds and leds.PSN: sportdan30

Yeah man, plasma is the best as of right now. My Panny should last me at least 5-6 more solid years, if not longer and by that time, it's OLED time.Well, after an evening with the Samsung LED, it's going back to BB. Re: Plasma or LCD? - The TV Thread
I'm actually upgrading from my 51" to a 60" Samsung plasma tomorrow. BB was able to match an Amazon deal that went in to effect yesterday (drop from $999 to $899).
For a brief moment, I started to question whether I had made the right choice going to plasma. I have always owned lcds. I still like my LG 55" and Vizio 42" but there truly is no comparison. In my mind, I thought I could match the screen quality on the led to my plasma. Talk about frustrating. Returning a 60" anything is no easy task.
In just a few short weeks, I've become a huge plasma fan, but also recognize the limitations of both types.PSN: sportdan30

Plus people think the TV will be ruined by an image being burnt in or that you have to refill the plasma every couple years...Agree....LED and LCD will always sell more and not because it provides a better picture but because it is bright and that is what the casual no clue people see and love.

Re: Plasma or LCD? - The TV Thread
Got a heck of a deal on a 60" Samsung plamsa 530 series over the last two days. BB has a price of $999. Amazon's was $899 so they matched that no problem. Then the price dropped to $807 on Amazon this morning and by the time I got there to have them price match that, it dropped to $775!! And they price match that too.
It's a no frills plasma with no smart tv or 3D, but I couldn't care less about those features since I already have a 360 and PS3. I feel like I got a pretty fair deal and it looks pretty darn nice!PSN: sportdan30

Slowly, but surely 55" + HDTVs are coming down in price. There has been a $300- $600 difference between 50" to 55" for too longComment
