I have a Panasonic plasma and it is amazing. I use it for movies and games and I purchased it because of this thread. My plasma tv is one of the best purchases I've made in years.

I need a 50 inch led because that is the biggest tv I can fit in the space I'm working with.

For the price and quality, that particular Samsung seems like a perfect fit.

If that's the only reason, is that it's the biggest tv you can fit in your space, then I would consider the TC-P50ST60 if you can do plasma. It's a great tv. I didn't read what your room settings are like I guess. If you can do plasma, look that one up. If you can't, do the 6000 Samsung.

My problem with the plasmas in this situation is that I only have 10.5 inches of depth to work with. The stand on the P50ST60 is 11.7 deep.

Save a few dollars and get the Sammy. Take the difference and get a soundbar (and subwoofer combo if you like bass) or surround sound set. This is assuming you don't already have a 5.1 or 7.1 system lying around the house.

This may have been covered at some point here, but as far as sizes go, what is the best to play my 360 on. I have a dual set up right now. I play on a 42 sanyo, and have a 24in lg next to it to watch tv on.

What do you mean by "best to play on" ? Screen size? Tech? (plasma, lcd, led)

I see a lot of people play on the smaller screens as opposed to larger a lot of the TI,e. and I basically was just wondering if there are pros and cons to this.

I'd assume this is the same for gaming:

At the end of the day, it probably just comes down to personal preference. The main concern is preventing eyestrain.

Ridiculous statement IMO. Unless they fix the buzzing issue on their higher end sets.

FYI: No clue how long this will last, but is frontpage on slickdeals. Get a 51" slim profile Sammy 1080p plasma for $650 and get a $300 gift card (good on dells website)

I'll agree that this is the one fault of my TV. I've remedied the issue slightly when I watch it by my seating placement or by the loudness of what I'm watching, but every single time I watch it I am well aware of its existence. I almost have to be apologetic for guests that are watching a movie with me and want to sit a certain way only to be immersed by what would sound like a bug zapper being in the room.

Yet, it still persists on their models. I don't know what's causing it, but they have to figure it out. This TV will not be in my next living room, and the next thing I get will not be a buzzer. That aside, I am infatuated by this set.

The worst part is that it doesn't happen on all of them. My sister and her husband own the 64" version of my TV and it doesn't buzz one bit. Most of those are known to be "peelers," but they haven't complained about anything yet on that front either. They just lucked out. I wish I had too.

I also have the 64" version of your set and mine doesn't buzz at all, nor has it peeled.

However, if picture quality and all that is a concern of yours when it comes to calibration and watching Blu-rays in a dark environment, etc. then I don't know if this is the best decision that you can make. It might be a good decision because I know that the other model is the best model at that price, but if you are able to spend more, I don't really know if there's a reason to go away from Panasonic or Samsung on the plasma line at 60" and above.

That's just the video aficionado in me speaking, and I haven't seen the LG for myself to know how it performs, so I'm only speaking from experience. I'm just wondering what else is out there around that price.

But yeah man, go for 60". I have 59" and love it! If I went any bigger (64/65"), it would not have properly fit with my assortment of equipment, so I had to optimize anyway. I'm perfectly okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches.

Damn it jmood, I just saw your signature based on this post!
