Looks like I'll have to order that 65 inch panny sooner then I expected.

When the plasma leader is throwing in the towel, I'm sure the others will follow suit. Sad news, but not surprising. This has been rumored for months if not years.

Yeah, this really sucks. Kind of funny that I had started this thread almost 3 years back when I was going back and forth between LCD and plasma. I really like my plasma and this sucks. If I had the money right now, I'd replace my Panny G20 with a larger Panny plasma before they are gone. It looks like Samsung is getting better with the tech and they are supposedly going to stick around a bit longer selling Panny plasmas. All my other displays at home are LCD, but my main one is plasma and it would be hard when the time comes to replace this with an LCD since I don't like the motion issues and lack of deeper blacks.

Guys, recently a Panasonic rep told me the news, but he was very sure that Panasonic was so confident in this years line of plasmas that they will sell them for another 2-3 years. He said they may go to a very limited quantity at times but said they should be available for years to come. Panasonic just isn't developing any new lines or models.

just got rid of my little 19" in the bedroom and replaced it with this Viera, The set is beautiful. Its 60hz and I'm fine with it, I don't fall trap to the 120hz/240hz.

I still have my LG plasma, I'm going to game on this set too, the xbox one is going on the Plasma and I'm just going to move the PS3 to this set. I may even hook the Xbone up to it.

So there is a new line coming out soon? If I am gonna go all out I might as well get the latest that they will have to offer.

There will be no future lines of Panasonic plasmas. The ZT60 will be their highest line of TVs. I would expect Samsung to announce the same thing in the upcoming months. With 4k moving so fast, there are going to be some serious price cuts. Netflix just announced 4k content, with Hulu, YouTube, CinemaNow, and numerous others set to announce the same thing in a month or two. 4k is truly set to take over, which feels good.

I have an LG plasma, not their LED. Quite happy.

Picking up a black friday tv is MUCH MUCH easier at Walmart than Best Buy. Best Buy gets campers days in advance.

Yeah and Walmart is by far closer to me than Best Buy is. Plus I'm working on Thanksgiving and don't get out until 5:30pm, which is 30 minutes before all the madness starts at Walmart, lol.

My first HDTV that I bought was a Samsung and I was happy with it then. It was a BF deal from Best Buy 5 years ago as well.

There a few tv deals worth takin a look at this year. Just kinda weary of it being Black Friday tvs you know.

You can always get the extended warranty for $30-40. Give you 3-4 worry free years.
