    Wow! What a steal, dude!

Screen wipe does very little for long-lasting IR. The best thing you can run is the pixel flipper on the Disney WOW disc, but even then it will have to be dozens of hours on end if you truly think you can get rid of a show model's taxing hours of static logos and content.

If it is not too obvious to you during normal viewing, then you're already in very good shape. Way to almost cut the price of that thing in half, man.

Thanx man. I just bought the wow disc on amazon and will use that to see if I can get rid of it. If not I might return but price was so low I am praying that wow disc will at worst fade it so it can be seen only if you put white screens up.

It's sad that in 2014 we still have retailers that don't know how to take care of a plasma (an expensive one in this case).

Am not even sure what to do right now. I have spent all day throwing slides and running screen wipe waiting till my WOW Disc gets here Saturday from Amazon.

The espn logo on the bottom right is fading a bit but the whole left hand side from top to bottom where the ESPN top stories go can be seen even in regular content but some parts are fading a bit but others are still strong.

Sad because the tv is in mint condition physically. No dead pixels and it was just a bit dusty but now looks great because I cleaned it well.

I might consider returning it and getting a new 60F8500 instead but that is 2400 and it would cost me over a 1000 more then I got this awesome tv for.

          Any tips?

I think I have 30 days to return but might have to check due to buying floor model

I need to get rid of some light burn in from the FIFA score bug on my Panasonic ST60. Nothing awful, but I'd like to get rid of it. I've already had my TV calibrated, so I wouldn't need it for that, but would that Disney WOW disk be worth it for the slight burn and audio calibration?

I run it overnight maybe once every two weeks, just to be better safe than sorry. I get immediate IR on my Samsung F8500, but it goes away within minutes all of the time and I've never noticed any uneven wear on it. But again, I do it for precautionary measures.

It's the best tool to get rid of IR though, because of how it jogs all of the pixels so violently.

Well tomorrow the wow disc is arriving and I will run that all weekend. If I see improvement Then I will keep set and continue to use wow disc. If it does not improve it then I will have to return it for the 60f8500 but it will cost me 1200 extra

I get temp IR too. But the score bug isn't temporary unfortunately. It's nothing too bad. But I play FIFA all the time, so I didn't want it to get worse. I may give it a go then.

Plasma is the superior technology when it comes to wanting to watch a natural image. Better color representation, pixel structure, image depth, uniformity, blacks, viewing angles, and motion handling.

It's just a shame that its cons keep it away from being "sexy" enough for anybody. Things such as burn-in, IR, heaviness/not as slim, runs hotter, worse for daytime viewing (though the F8500 is just fine), and less eco-friendly.

I'm willing to make certain trade-offs and sacrifices to get the best picture possible when watching TV. With the trade-offs I make, burn-in and uneven wear has been incredibly nonexistent for my D7000 that I've owned for two-and-a-half years, and my F8500 that I've owned for nine months. Furthermore, movies have never looked better in my house, and only OLED can surpass plasma (they need to get their motion down pat) but it's just way too costly right now.

Unfortunately, when many customers have the exact same mindset that you have, this is what has caused plasma technology to go down the toilet. No companies are producing new top-tier plasma lines anymore. The VT60, ZT60, and F8500 are the three best televisions out there right now, especially if you are a movie guru.

Oh and as far as your "headaches" comment, I'm assuming you're referring to things that can distraught you about the TV, not the actual effects of watching it. Just wanted clarification on that one.

There is a reason plasma is dying out, and that is 4k. The reason plasma's are about to be done has nothing to do with quality. A Panasonic rep told me there's just way too much lost money by not investing their tech into 4k and OLED. From what I'm hearing though, OLED has taken a couple steps back and might not be ready. I've heard a lot of problems with burn in worse than plasma's. 4k truly is the future and Panasonic is headed in the right direction.

Well nothing has worked and the terrible maintenence or lack of maintenance by pc richards has burned this tv bad. Nothing has worked. PC Richards has ordered me the 60F8500 for Tuesday and I will return this beautiful set. Shame because it's mint and has a stellar picture. I tried but when the burn can be seen in all content there is no hope.

My friend had the same issues. He bought a shelf display of the ST60 with some burn in. All I did was go into the service menu and put a white screen on the display. It took about 48 hours of run time, but the burn in faded.

It was worth a shot. Sad that pure negligence ruined a quality set. I'd be willing to bet they had it in vivid/torch mode since day 1.

                              Hope you enjoy the Sammy.

As GAMEC0CK said, intentional abuse for long periods of time sometimes can't be fixed. If they run those TV's 24/7/365, I mean... that's just too much.

You really haven't given it enough time though, either. I did say dozens upon dozens of hours. I really should have said hundreds. If it's true burn-in, it's irreversible. If it's uneven wear, you can always restore it, but it still takes a very long time.
