What do you plan on watching In 4K? Unless you are talking a couple years down the line.

I am going to weight a few years. I have had a 720p HDTV sences 2007 it upscale to 1080p 37 inch and I just had to replace the lamp for the first time at the begging of the year. After the lamp goes out I am just going to upgrade has I want a bigger better tv and the sound on my tv goes out some times like once a month and I have to turn the tv off and back on to get the sound back so that is annoying. I want like 50-55 inches maybe even 60 and I am sure the replacement lamp will last a few years at least and by then I am sure 4k will be cheaper and there will be some 4k stuff to watch. I think next gen ps5 we will have a few 4k games like how ps3 had a few 1080p games and then I think ps6 will be almost all 4k like how ps4 is almost all 1080p.

You're wanting that nice of a TV and still running the sound out of the TV? If you're going to spend a lot on a setup, why not get a good sound setup too? Maybe that's just me, but a good surround sound is just as important to the experience as the TV.

I'd say even a good sound bar if space/layout/other factors don't allow a full surround system.

Beats the pants off TV speakers at any rate.

While I am not has big in to a sound system has maybe some people. I care more about the size of a TV and the picture quality then the sound system. While the TV I have right now has a bit in surround sound setting in it kind of thing and yeah its not has good has having a real one but still sounds not to bad.

How does a sound bar compare to a surround system any way? What are the prices like ect?

SO for people with a 4k TV how do blu rays and video games look on it compared to a regular HDTV sences there are no games or blu rays that are in 4k yet and the TV just upscale it to 4k?

There won't be a lamp to go out unless you plan on buying a 5 year old DLP TV.

You can get sound bars with the rear surround speakers. The price difference depends really on how much extra you want to spend.

Even a $100 soundbar will sound soooo much better than your TV speakers. This is just on the lower priced end. You can get sound bars for over $1,000.

You can go as far down the rabbit hole as you wish. Like already mentioned, you can find sound bar + subwoofer combos at $100 and up.

If you have the space, I always recommend a full surround sound (5.1 or 7.1) setup over a soundbar + sub setup. There really is no way for them to give a surround sound feel without using actual speakers SURROUNDING you.

But if your goal is to simply have something better than the tv speakers, either option will provide that.

What do you mean there wont be a lamp to go out? The tv I have is a LCD tv. I have seen sound bars before I just don't know much about them.

While I don't have a lot of spaces has I still live at home with my parents. I am going to have to also get something bigger for my tv when I do finaly movie out and get a bigger tv in the futchure has my 37 inch tv that I have right now already takes up all the space on the thing I have my tv on.

I was browsing through Best Buy yesterday and saw they they had Klipsch Refence R-28F. Are these just last years Icons, but with some marginal improvements and bronze drivers? Just curious, not looking to upgrade to these or anything.

Authentic, my BB cleared out their separate audio room (not Magnolia) and have it closed up and all the audio equipment out on shelves with everything else. Any idea what they might be doing with it?:

Editing because I fixed the problem on my own. Apparently a bunch of LG monitors have a "auto dimming" feature. It kept kicking in for me on fade in/fade outs and when a movie when to a full black screen. This would have the backlight automatically turn off, only to come back after a delay when the screen wasn't totally black. I was able to fix it by setting the monitor in the "Cinema" setting. I'll leave it at that as it looks the same as my own prefs, just a bit darker. It's still an annoyance when you can't turn it off, at least there is a fix.
