The signal is the same cable to cable and the only difference between cables would be in regards to durability, right?
As long they are the same class, they are the same. You just want to make sure you get a High Speed cable capable of 18 Gb/s for 4K HDR signal. These are the ones I use, and they are very inexpensive:

PSA for my fellow KS Samsung owners and future owners

I know you guys will be hyped to try the PRO with HDR in games that allow it but here is a little bit of info before you start

In the settings turn HDMI UHD Color to ON as this is the only way the PS4 and XB1 S will allow the tv to receive HDR from the game.

This does not mean that hdr is turned on it just means your tv has opened up the option for all HDR native content to display in HDR..If you have it OFF your PS4 Pro and XB1 s will not display in HDR when HDR content is played

      1. Make sure you go into picture setting and select Special Viewing Mode in there you get 3 options

      Sports Mode
      Game Mode
      HDR+ Mode

The one to select is Game Mode when gaming. If watching tv on another hdmi input then have all those 3 OFF

Once in Game Mode turn sharpness down to 0 and select HDMI Black Level to Auto

Screen Size to 16:9 and fit to screen to YES

Smart LED is a must at HIGH

      Color SPace to Native

Turn Dymamic Contrast from medium to OFF....Never turn this ON

The bad thing about this tv is that if you do not use game mode and a game starts that is HDR enable it will go into HDR mode and set these parameters in Movie mode automatically and once you turn off the game it sets the picture options back to what you had

In game mode you must always set them as they stay the same as you had them when you were playing a non HDR game where the back light being maxed out at 20 for HDR is to much and should be like 12-14

If you do not put back light at Max and Smart LED at High then your HDR picture will be dull and dark

The option called HDR+ is a Samsung feature that mimics HDR for non HDR content like movies and cable but never use it as it is not remotely close to what HDR is

I got a curved TV and can't go back to "normal". Viewing angles are of no concern because I watch and play straight on.

I'm very interested in this Samsung 50 inch KU6300 that Walmart has on sale for Black Friday. Would that be a decent set for a few years? Mostly interested in gaming on it and saw that it had solid ratings, especially for gaming.

400 seems like a nice price but would I be better off ponying up the money for the KS8000?

8000 is definitely worth the extra money.

If you have a 4k, your hdmi should be 2.2 I believe. Price and brand never mattered to me. A 4 dollars cable is the same as a 20 dollar monster cable.

All of this can be super annoying trying to figure out what you need. I have a 50inch 1080 Sceptre. It's beautiful. I recently upgraded from an out of the box theater to a receiver. Sony STRDH750. I wanted it because I was sick of switching optical cables when I wanted 5.1 on the ps4 for movies. I read about the pass though for hdmi and you needed hdmi 1.4 with Ethernet or your tv may not have arc. I got it and it works thankfully. You almost need a college course to figure it all out haha.

if you just want to game on it for the most part that is a perfect tv but as a tv in general the ks8000 or ks8500 are superior choices

but just for gaming that tv is excellent for use with the PRO and XB1

It does HDR and has real low input lag numbers

400 to 1000 for similar sizes between ks8000 and that one is not worth it just for gaming

I see everyone in here going crazy over the Hisense TV but is it just good for it's price and a great bedroom TV? Or would you recommend it as your main TV? I was looking at the Vizio M Series (P series might be a bit too much out of my range). How would you compare the Hisense to either the Vizio M or P Series?

I work in TVs so I'm around the KU6300 and the Ks8000 all day everyday. The KS8000 is superior in every way. With that said I don't have cable and I game on the KU6300 in my bedroom. I love that TV. Looks good and will be better than any other TV at a similar price range because it actually has a 10-Bit screen ( but no wide color gamut) I don't regret buying it one bit and it cost me half the price of the KS8000.

If you have a man cave or a nice living area no doubt go KS8000 though.

I have the ks8000 and I have a few issues with it.

First, when watching sports and even commercials on TV (I have a comcast cable box) there are intermittent times when the picture just judders ( it happens once every few minutes). I have no idea why it does this and it's bothering me.

Second, I have my picture on standard mode. When I go to a different picture mode and then later go back to standard mode, it does not revert back to standard mode. Instead, the picture is alot brighter. Eventually it goes back to standard mode after 30 seconds or so. I am not sure why it takes a while to go back to standard mode.

Is anyone else having problems like either of these? And if so, any idea how to fix them?

Make sure you turn off ECO mode so the brightness does not fluctuate

Movie mode should be used at all times as that gives you the best reference for movie watching.

For gaming you should use a different input and not the same as the one used for watching tv

I assume you do this due to having a receiver?

If you use a different hdmi input for gaming you can just activate the game mode on it and leave it there

The judder you see is a known issue on that set which is why I returned it for the 8500...It is not overly apparent but to someone who is sensitive to it they will notice it.

Artman says a patch came out to fix it but I do not know as I returned my a day after purchasing it.

Also turn of Auto Motion as well that should help

Thanks for the advice, especially on the ECO mode and auto motion (I will try both tonight and see if that helps). I use HDMI 1 for the TV and HDMI 2 for gaming. So I am not sure why the picture settings are being finicky. I did download the latest firmware update, but the judder was still there. I like the set but the above issues are driving me nuts. I did buy a 4k monitor as well and may just go with that and continue to use my panny plasma for gaming until I see another set down the line that I like.
