Re: Plasma or LCD? - The TV Thread

Here's the big question, though: Do you care? If you were to set your TV to Warm or one of the middle settings, your first reaction is that it's going to look too red. This is because you're used to the blue image.

If you don't care, go ahead and leave it. The calibration police aren't going to knock on your door and demand you change your TV to a more accurate setting. But if you want an image more like what the director intended, switch to one of the warmer settings. Give it a day or two to allow your brain to adjust. If after a few days you want to go back, by all means. I'll warn you though, it's now going to look really blue.

Color temperature is a TV control that most never touch, but it's the key to making your TV as accurate as possible.

you can always exchange it if you do not like it as Amazon allows returns

So any thing bigger is going to be hanging over the sides and from what I understand the stand that comes on the 8000 is at the end of both sides of the tv and there is no way to change that location? So with that being said can I just have the tv on my stand hanging over or because the tv is so small in the back like most new TV's is it going to be to flimsy to have it like that? Like will it not stay up with out the stand? If it is I am going to have to get a bigger entertainment for my tv to be on. I would like to not have to do that because if I got a new entertainment stand I would like to get like a 70 inch one but any thing bigger then 55 inch in my room would be to big.
The stand on this tv is terrible as the legs are pegs and are wide so if you have a small tv stand it will wobble or fall off

Hang it if you can which is what I did....One thing I hate about this tv is the legs, very weak from Samsung

Makes me regret not spending more for the 9000

Isn't the 9000 different besides just the legs though? No I don't have a way to hang it. Can you just take the stand off though and put it onto a tv stand or will that not work?

Oh while that is fine and about the detached back plate I had zero idea that was a thing.

I rather get a nice 4K monitor if you on a budget, the full 4k hdr experience will not show on a 300 tv...Get a sweet monitor 4k

I mean it doesnt have HDR though. Are there sales on Ben Qs?

I do prefer a 4k TV with HDR. Primarily going to be used for Gaming.

Also doesnt need to be a smart TV.

Right the legs that is what I mean and no I don't have a way to hang it. What I mean is older TV's like my 2007 tv where bigger in the back and so you could just have it sitting on what ever with no legs keeping it up or any thing and it wouldn't fall over. I was wondering if you could still do that with newer TV's but I figured most likely not because of TV's being smaller in the back. That is the one down side to having TV's smaller in the back. So yeah most likely I am going to need to get a new stand.

Are there even any 3k TV's? I have never heard of there being 3k TV's before. I was thinking it was either regular HDTV today or 4k ones.
