I'm also sticking with my Panny plasma. I love that TV - it makes me sad that the plasma got edited of the name of this thread.
Seriously tho, I have no interest in 4k content at the moment as its still seems quite limited and I havent bought any 4K devices yet. Im waiting forXbox Scorpio, then I'll consider a 4K TV

Is it difficult to set up? Anything special I need to know?

Not at all, there are the 4 hdmi ports, what ever you have playing 4K HDR content , make sure you plug them in to the ones labeled 4K and make sure the firmware is up to date and your good to go. It's a great set.

Re: LCD or OLED? - The TV Thread

I have had the 55 inch KS8000 TV for about a month and a half now and I love this TV! I have not had a chance to watch much 4k stuff but even still the TV looks great! I had a 37 inch Sony TV before this that I got in 07 and the picture on this TV is so much better then that TV was and also going 18 inches bigger then what I had before is very nice upgrade to. Now part of it is that the Sony TV I had before was only a 720p upscale 1080 p TV but also part of it is that this is just a better and newer TV then that other one was. The only thing I have watched in 4k is magnificent 7 on 4k bluray and it looked amazing. I wish I had more to watch in 4k but there is not a lot in 4k yet and with most 4k movies costing 10-15 more then the regular bluray version and with a lot of 4k movies being movies that had already came out that I already have it is going to be a little while before I have more stuff to watch in 4k.

I also don't have Netflix as I don't watch a lot out side of sports and tend to buy movies I like. So there for Netflix doesn't really do a lot for me and I hardly have enough time to even keep up on sports and work and game to really watch that much that is not sports any way. I have also not had a chances to even watch many bluray movies on this TV yet upscaled to 4k as I only got a 4k player about a month ago and I just moved out on my own about 3 weeks ago. So with the whole moving and buying stuff I need and what not just have not had a lot of time to watch movies. Considering how great the TV looks to begin with I wish I could watch some sports in 4k.

What did you have before? I would love to have the 65 inch instead of the 55 inch because the bigger the better but like I said I was at home and even 55 inch was kind of big when I was still at home in my bed room. Now that I am out on my own I have about 1.5-2 feet more room. So now its not overly big and could maybe even go up to like 65. But not only was the room I in small for the 65 and even kind of for the 55 but I also didn't want to spend much more then about 1000 on a TV and the 55 inch when I got it was like 997 plus tax and I had to also spend a few extra to get some stuff so I could still play old systems because the TV only has HDMI inputs. So it cost me about 1100 with that plus I had to get a new TV stand has my stand I had before was only big enough for about a 37 inch TV like I had before. So really to get the TV and ever thing cost me about 1200 and the 65 inch I think even when it was on sale would have been like 1500-1600 or something. If I had been moved out a few weeks faster I would have most likely still got the 55 inch TV but would have most likely got a like 70inch TV stand so I could go even bigger at some point if I want to. But 70 inch TV stand would have been to big to even get into my room.

When it comes to 4k and youtube when I was at home I found that like any video on the internet that was above 1080p I couldn't really watch with out the video stopping ever like 2 seconds. I think I may have internet that is like double the speed has what I had when I was at home now though so maybe I could watch some 4k videos on youtube now but I have not tried and even on youtube I would say like 95% of the video's are 1080p or lower. Like I said I really wish I could watch sports in 4k. Also even though 4k bluray's cost more then regular bluray movies I would say at the same point in its life time it is better then bluray was when it comes to price. Right now most 4k movies are like 30-35 where at the same point in its life time bluray movies where like 45-50 and players where like 800 where a lot of the 4k players are like half that or even less. I don't think it will be much longer before 4k movies are more like 20-25. I am hoping star wars 8 gets a 4k bluray next year.

Yeah I know, I think I came out a bit behind to be honest, but yes, the peace of mind of having what I want and her not being unhappy is well worth that aspect I suppose.

The H8C comes with a 4 or 5 year factory warranty. So unless you just want peace of mind that you can take it into Best Buy you can avoid getting an extended warranty. Although $99 for 5 years at BB is pretty good.

Thanks man! I can't get it just yet though, have to wait until my Amazon gift card clears (I sold them my Wii U and they should get it today or tomorrow).

Once that is done I can have them match Best Buy but I'm hoping it'll just be on sale at Amazon around the time of the Super Bowl for $499 or such.

Wow, I was just looking at the 55" H8C Hisense as my wife is worried about it being heavier than my current LG 55LM6700 and the Hisense weighs 33.1 pounds versus the LG's weight of 54.1 pounds.

So yeah, the new Hisense is 19 pounds lighter.

I'll have to tell my wife that the new TVs weight/size isn't going to be an issue.

Man, I don't even see the H8C on Amazon being sold now except through third party places which want about $670-675 for the 55"

Should I be worried? Or will they show back up on Amazon?

Remember, I will have a $300 Amazon card that I will be tied to Amazon with, I can't go to Best Buy for the H8C..
