Oh that's interesting! Well this is why the wife wants me to wait, better stuff keeps coming along! 70" would be awesome! I am going to have to do some research!!

TV Research is along the lines of slider-itis we suffer for Madden and NBA 2K each year! LOL! Just tryin' to help the brethren out!

Personally, my choices have come down to:

65KS8500 = Very weary b/c of the "bezel lottery" since I suffered the first time from the "separation" issue....

P65-C1 = Seems to be built like a tank (yes, its thicker and not paper thin, but seems solid) and saw it in the Magnolia room at BB the other day and was blown away with the PQ....Can get really deep blacks (not as deep as OLED, but darn near close) and had that 3d look to it because of the contrast....

70UH6350 = Price...size (70!?!?)...Dolby Vision AND HDR10...Web OS 3.0 is stable and much better than the OS that Samsung is running with at the moment...option to use the LG Magic remote (think Nintendo Wii controller)...and again...Price...

LONG SHOT: 65 or 55 C6P = OLED...enough said...BUT PRICE is killer and got the price hike of $500 so would have to wait till it drops again....

Best thing though...I'm a Costco member so got the 90 day return period on my side...But also don't want to have to pack and ship these things on the regular if not satisfied! I ain't no Amazon Fulfillment Center man! LOL!

LOL! Its like slider-itis man....tv research....you just can't be completely satisfied until you have checked all the options....Once you have decided and are set on things....some other "variable" pops up and your back to the drawing board! LOL!

Odogg stay away from that cheap LG. Get the KS8000. I've tried almost all these TVs except for the OLEDs and those are very expensive and have many issues too. Your best bet is getting the ks8000. You won't be disappointed. I've had mine for a while, probably the first on this forum and it's a very good tv. My only legit concern is the motion blur on certain games and it's not a deal breaker. Some notice it more than others. Movies, cable, games and HDR look fantastic on this set. EVERYONE that comes over has complemented the tv on how athletically beautiful it is and how great the picture looks. Also, the back of my tv has not separated one bit at all since I've bought it.

hey guys ive been doing a little research but would also like your input as well. Im currently in the market for a 60" 4k tv with hdr. and 60 inches only because that is the biggest size that will fit above our fireplace. Just curious as to what you guys think. I would like to stay below $1500 and preferably in the 1200-1300 dollar range. Thanks for all input

                Under rtings...

60 inch is a dying size, there's a limited amount of manufacturers that still produce them so you really don't have much choice. Most of the time, we recommend getting one of the*55 inchor*65 inch*models. You can still find good TVs, but they usually offer less value than the surrounding and more popular sizes.
The best 60-inch TV we've tested is the Samsung UN60DU7200FXZA. It's an entry-level model in Samsung's 2024 lineup.

Re: LCD or OLED? - The TV Thread

My Vizio M55D0 UHD TV came today and I also ran over to Walmart to pick up a Vizio 3821C6 soundbar w/wireless woofer (the sound on the TV speakers was pretty subpar, imo). Installation of both was a breeze and I am controlling all of it with my PS4 universal remote (tablet remote "issue" was overblown, imo, although maybe it's a legit issue for heavy app users). The TV did want to do a bunch of updates (~30 min of initial updates) before I could watch anything.

The TV was $734 after tax (Walmart online) and the soundbar was $145 after tax. So, all in on a 4K HDR set with sound to go with it, I spent a bit under $900. I'm pretty happy with that even though I know there are more expensive models out there that are better in different ways.

Watching Bulls-Celtics right now and the difference from 1080p to what I have now is pretty obvious. Picking up reflections off the United Center LED boards on the playing surface. Atmospheric lighting like what you'd see inside a basketball stadium. Good uniform colors and textures. Blacks are very good. Bass really picking up on the "defense!" chants. Definitely closer to "being there" than before. I've never really had a sound system before either, so this also sounds quite nice with the added rumble.

Now I have to watch some movies and see how it does, lol.

Yeah I read about it and I'm not interested. Seems like a decent set but not on the same level as the Samsung KS8000. I'm 99% locked in at this point to the Samsung KS8000 65" and unless something really strange happens that is what will be sitting in my man cave in the near future.

65' KS8000 for 1,250. The only downside is its refurbished.

I think I may be stating the obvious here but you should get the Samsung KS8000 65" set. You'll get a quality set that's larger than what you are looking for (but not by much) and you can find it around the $1500 mark, or slightly more.

If it's too much money to go for the 65" maybe consider the 55" set? It goes for $1397 right now on Amazon.
