So guys, got everything set up here and i'm loving it all, but a couple of questions:

    1. I like the Samsung Smart Remote and it controls everything but I cannot figure out how to get it to adjust the volume on my Onkyo receiver. Right now it's going from the TV optical out to the Onkyo and the sound works ok, it's in 5.1 and such, but I can't figure out how to get the remote to adjust my sound. Right now when I move the volume rocker it just shows the symbol on the TV showing that it's optical out (indicating it cannot adjust volume).

On the DirecTV remote there's an actual setting to tie volume to the AVR but I cannot find anything like that in the Samsung settings.

    2. I miss having an INFO button. Half the time the picture looks great but when I want to see the resolution and etc I cannot figure out how to do it, driving me nuts.
Ideally, you should be running everything directly into your AV receiver and just have 1 HDMI (ARC) to the TV.

My receiver supports 4k but not HDR and I got mine last year which sucks.

Oh great but I did hear that some devices are going to be able to add HDR through firmware updates, have you checked that out?

I just have a soundbar, so figure i'd run xbox and a fire TV through the TV directly and use digital audio to the soundbar from the tv....not necessarily the best way, but not at the situation where a receiver makes sense again

I don't know about HDR, but some will be able to configure for HDMI 2.1 when it comes out (adding dynamic metadata). You may want to hold off for a bit.

I got a receiver though knowing that when that comes out, hopefully I'll be looking at some sort of Blu-ray player with two HDMI outputs so I can bypass the receiver with video completely.

Any Hisense owners know how you can tell that you are getting a 4k stream on Netflix? How you can check?

I'd imagine hitting the info button on your Hisense remote or something along those lines would give you the resolution of the feed.

well if you see UHD or HDR in Netflix, then it's in 4K, but you'll have to have the updated package too.

                                Question Fellas ....

On my P-Series Vizio....I'm using The Vizio Remote Tablet to cast Netflix....When I cast Marco Polo I can go to the Display information and it says; Resolution: 3840x2160 and HDR: YES....and as the episode began, the Dolby Vision logo popped up at the bottom letting me know that DV has kicked in....

But when I cast a show like Breaking Bad which is UHD...I check Display Information and it says; Resolution: 3840x2160 and HDR: NO .... if I cast from the tablet for Netflix, will it not have HDR capability and only can do Dolby Vision? Or do I need to use an external player like a Roku Premiere and hook it up to enable HDMI subsampling? Was hoping I wouldn't need to invest in another peripheral and just stick to casting from the remote...

Any info would be great! Thanks all!
