I actually went with the C6 since it was the same price plus 3D and curved. I don't care much for curved but 3D is a nice added bonus.

Congrats on getting one of the best TVs on the market. IMO, the LG OLEDs & Sony Z9D are the top ones.

Hey now, the one I own is a Samsung and now that I own a Samsung I say Samsung is the best and I will challenge anyone to a duel who says otherwise

Did you see my post about HDR above? How is it in some games like Battlefield 1 which don't support HDR it seems like they are still ultra bright like when you look into the sun?

Pulled the rip cord on this today. Delivered by next week. Tried to get in under the deadline for 4 year warranty running out. Price was right. I'm sure Sam's has a 2-4 week return policy...gotta check. I don't game any longer on consoles and hopefully the Netflix UHD streaming will live up to its billing. I'll let you guys know.

*I paid more than double this price for our Sharp 52" 10 years ago.....so this is a "bargain" in my eyes

Let us know what you think, I'm looking at that one for my living room in 2018.

Speaking of older tvs, don't feel bad, I paid $3,800 for the first HDTV I ever bought (and one of the first period) at Circuit City (remember them?)

That was like 2005 or 2006, can't recall. It was a 50" Samsung. I still have it and it still is chugging along too.

Wow and that was about the same time period too. We found ours at a Sears distribution center sitting on a shelf in a skinny aisle. It was weird but at the time it was a great price for Sharp. It has served us well. Too many nights of kids/wife falling asleep in front of it though. That ****'s gonna stop.

Looking for some input. I have browsed the thread at times but don't remember what pages certain posts were on.

I am considering an upgrade to PS4 Pro. However, I am currently gaming on an LED Samsung I bought back in 2011. It has only been used for gaming and works great thus my reluctance to upgrade over the years. With the news coming out on Pro support for The Show 17 today I have been thinking about a TV now too. One that supports HDR as well. I remember seeing a lot mentioned about a KS8000. Can anyone give me some information on what some good upgrades could be? I want to stay well under $1000 and don't need anything very big. Current TV I am using is a 46".

              Thanks.

I was just looking on Best Buys site for someone else in this thread not too far back at the 55" KS8000 for about $1149 if my memory serves. I've seen it before on sale for $999 I am pretty sure.

That news about MLB The Show 17 is awesome, I didn't think they were supposed to release the graphical details until March 23rd though.

EDIT: The 55" KS8000 is $1179, oddly the 49" is actually more at $1279 (Amazon)

My LG OLED 65 E comes in tomorrow! Been with the same DLP for 10 years. Gonna have that be my second TV in my upstairs area for either the games my kids play, the second NFL/NBA/March madness game I have on or if the wife wants to watch TV. I'll use the new beast for all stuff I do.

Really looking forward to HDR, 4K, and a slim TV that doesn't take an hour (exaggeration) to turn on like the DLP.

Not sure. Gonna look at some point at Best Buy. May just upgrade to a Pro and get everything it offers minus HDR.

Re: LCD or OLED? - The TV Thread

Congrats to all the new owners. I may have to rethink going bigger(55 to 65) the way our room is set up, I have a sectional that have 2 recliners at each end. My TV is at an angle facing us, which puts us both on a viewing angle with prime seat being dead center.

My wife's seat is closer to the TV than mine. She told me the 65 was really big and she needs some getting use to that size.

I personally think 65 is too big, and she's not gonna like it because she will see all the small imperfections in the picture due to being so close.

I'm thinking I'm gonna have to stay 55, which in that case I'm thinking of grabbing b the B6.

I also like the new SONY XBR900E Full Array Local Dimming set. Unfortunately this set won't get Dolby Vision. It's a couple of hundred less.

My only hesitation on the OLED is my grandson uses our family TV a lot, and I'm afraid of image burn in because kids will be kids.

                          Decisions, Decisions, Decisions.....

I have a Vizio M-Series 55 incher that I got on sale for $730 after tax thru Walmart online.

Pros about this TV: you can get it for <$1000 all in if you can find a sale; it is 4K and has both Dolby Vision and HDR10 versions of HDR built in; very good black levels/resolution; easy to set up; good picture quality (speaking not as a videophile--which I am not); 5 HDMI ports (the 1st has HDR, the 5th is low input lag for gaming); comes with a regular remote and can be paired with a universal remote easily if you dislike the tablet remote

Cons about this TV: not one of the brightest TVs on the market--rated mediocre in that area; color gamut meets HDR requirements but does not exceed them by as much as some of the more expensive TVs out there; comes with a tablet remote that some people seem to hate (the tablet can lose sync with the TV from time to time if it sits for a while causing you to reboot Netflix); built-in speakers are not good at all (you'd need some external speakers/soundbar)

I bet if it wasn't for the ps4 pro most of us wouldn't have upgraded our TVs, i know thats the only reason i got ks8500, didnt give a damn about a new TV until i heard how good 2k looked on the Pro with a good 4k tv.

Alright, now the wife thinks a 65" will be fine. I can move my entertainment stand back some which would help.

I will say the 930D did look huge when I set it up on Saturday, but when the clouding wasn't visable, it did look gorgeous.

This now brings me back to the SONY 900E. This TV looks stunning as I've seen it in BB running a Sony 4k loop. Man that trilluminous color hardware is a beast, and the motion was great
