Agreed. This is the reply I got from Enclave support when I was trying to figure out the whole ARC thing with tv and PS4:

In thinking about it, it's probably still easier to use optical. Keep the ps4 plugged into the tv, optical from ps4 into enclave. Then you just need to switch enclave to optical and your done. As far as sound quality, set it to bitstream. You're using arc so it's best as the tv won't pass multichannel 5.1 pcm out the arc port. As far as sound quality, the difference is negligible, truly. You'd have to have a much more expensive system to hear the difference, and even then, in most houses...still negligible.

For 680 out the door it's a great price. Just also like the comfort of having a decent HDR that does both standards so I can slowly add newer gaming systems or things and be ok. TVs last me forever, and don't see a big need to get anything bigger here or for other rooms.

The Long Dark looked more vivid to me on it as well. I know I don't have any HDR or anything (No xbox one s) but the larger picture seemed nicer than my old Vizio 1080p.

I don't feel anything budget about it for me, so it was a perfect pickup.

It's also fairly light....i was shuttling around tvs and it's much lighter than my bigger Vizio, and my old 760p Vizio (which is still a good tv) is a heavy beast compared to those lol.
Mine should be arriving at my house tomorrow, just in time to calibrate it before Destiny. I just don't know where I am going to put it.

I had to use ARC from tv to soundbar and also digital from tv to soundbar. Somehow lets me control soundbar sound with tv remote. ARC seems odd, but I'm good with how it works. Both Xbox and switch in tv and sound passes through

TV blew out Hate to have to get a new one, and if this current one lasted, I'd keep it as long as possible(I don't care for getting 4K anytime soon).

Getting one anywhere from 50-55 inch. Either LED or 4K(depending on price differences). Anyone have comments on certain brands? Like cheaper end ones like Vizio/RCA vs higher end ones like LG/Samsung?

Because for me, I see LED ones like Vizio for under $600 and RCA for under $500(4K 55 inch RCA for $498, though I don't got a 4K box,but LED one is around same price). While LG/Samsung seems like it'll be $800 for an LED one and over $1000 for 4K.

I'm using Canadian prices obviously, but just want to show people the difference in price, which is why I wanna get others opinions on lower vs higher end models. I'm not using it for gaming, simply just using it for watching TV(and sometimes connecting other things like USB drive or HDMI cable)

I don't really know if that would work right for us looking at it. That would be like showing 2D vs. 3D on your TV with a non-3D camera and our non-3D displays.

TCL right now nemesis is probably the better buy especially if your looking at 55 inch. TCL P Series 55 inch is hot right now, due to great picture quality (FALD) as well as support for both HDR and Dolby Vision.

If your looking bigger, then Hisense is your choice because TCL discontinued the P Series in 65 inch

yeah, that TCL is great (I've had it less than a week though)...I'm not a guy who notices little things and the angle of view seems fine to me...we've been very happy at a fair price.

Figure this is as good of a place as any to ask. Does any one know if you can record games with things like NBA league pass, NFL pass etc? I pay about 130 a month for TV and internet together but out side of sports I don't watch much TV. Really the only reason I have TV is because I love sports and need to be able to record games. The thing is with like NBA league pass, NFL pass together is only 300 and I am not sure about NHL but I would think it would be at most 200. So that means for the 3 things I basically watch at most you are talking about 500 a year that comes out to only about 41-42 a month. I am not sure how much I pay for TV out of the 130 it cost for TV and internet together but I am sure it is more then 41-42 and not only that but in summer time I basically don't even watch TV with there being no NBA, NFL or NHL. I would maybe watch more TV if I had more free time but I am a sports nut and I don't care for a lot of TV shows and most of my free time is catching up on sports. So yeah is there any way to record games with those things? Second part of that I am wondering about is I think I have heard that you cant watch natural TV games with those. So like even if you have those things you are still going to need cable/sat to be able to watch playoff games?

I don't know, but i'd think they'd let you stream the old games? You'd have to look into it. Some of them won't let you watch the local team live I think...all good questions, sorry I don't have answers

I own a few Vizios and am for the most part happy with them. None are 4k however. My problem is I am watching one TV from a distance of 15' the other close to 20'. How big would I have to go to see the benefit of a 4k TV to go along with a PS4 Pro? What brand would you go with? Not into spending insane money for one of the higher priced brands.
