Is it getting sound through optical? If so, it's not lossless.

      Gets here thursday!

Amazon link, use above code to save 50 bucks
      So it was you!

I had planned on ordering the same TV today with Prime shipping, but it's now out of stock and only available 3rd party with an estimated arrival date of Sep. 6-11. Oh well, I'll still probably put the order in. I don't mind waiting a bit. Do you know how long that discount code is good for?

So question I have. I got the Yamaha Yas 207 sound bar about 2 and a half weeks ago and it sounds great but for some reason I cant get sound if I try to plug it with HDMI only with optical. I wanted to do HDMI just to see if it sounds any better. Why am I not getting sound with HDMI? What could I be doing wrong?

Make sure you change the source on the soundbar as well.

You mean the like HDMI or TV source thing? I have tried that. I also tried doing 2 HDMI cables has a I see the sound bar has 2 HDMI slots or something. I thought maybe you had to have the HDMI plugged in your cable box and tv to go with the sound bar or something but that didn't work either.

Quick question. If I buy a TV stand with a mounting bracket attached to the back of it, do I need to purchase anything else to mount a TV to it or are all TVs compatible with them out of the box?

I'm assuming the stands would come with the proper bolts necessary to mount the TV?

VESA dimensions are what you want to look at. I'd be shocked if you got a combo that didn't fit. The TV stand/mount usually has the maximum size supported in the specs, so as long as both numbers on the TV are under the max. It will be in a format like 300x300 or whatever the numbers may be.

The only TV I've ever mounted had the screws already screwed into the back of the TV. No idea on TVs these days though.

No clue....saw the deal on Kotaku (Kinja deals or whatever, they have bloggers who compile tech and home deals)...figured made sense to get the better remote, otherwise I was having Best Buy deliver for free cause getting those tvs in my van is annoying (pulling out kid seats, etc)

Still in a state of shock at my incoming credit card statement.

Delivery and installation will be next week.

Thanks for all the advice guys!

Don't think about it. When I bought my oled, I just had to focus on the fact that this is my tv for the next 5-10 years. That eased the pain of that first cc payment.

You should see HDMI-IN and HDMI-OUT

If your soundbar is both a Video and Audio pass-through then connecting your cable box to HDMI-IN and the HDMI-out connection goes to your HDMI TV Input (IE: Input 1)should do the trick

If your soundbar is only Audio, them connecting your TV via HDMI can work, but you will have to check your TV settings and see if it allows you to turn off internal speakers and enable external speakers AKA your soundbar

That's exactly how I'm approaching it.

I'm sure the inevitable questions will come like How much did you pay for it?

My response will always be, "Just enjoy it."
