With the TCL P series, do you guys have the P607 or P605? I see rtings says the 605 offers the same performance and picture quality but different remote. Bestbuy has the 605 for $599.

 The only difference is the remote (which for some reason amounts to a $50 steeper price), so that's up to you.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: LCD or OLED? - The TV Thread

Thank you for this. I actually went ahead and purchased the LG65B7 before reading your recommendations. Since it won't only be for gaming, I think I made the right choice. Now I'm just trying to find the right/best calibration settings. So many options and opinions out there.if your tv is mainly for movies, sports it is hands down the best you can get in terms of pq. The OLEDS are all awesome for that purpose which is the main purpose after all right?

In terms of gaming I will not get an OLED because as awesome as the PQ is the fact that it still cant reach 1000 nits of peak brightness is a killer for ME personally for HDR gaming.

Most games are now HDR and pretty much all future games as well. The OLEDS only issue is that it cannot pump out the brightness like Sony can.

Besides that everything else is awesome about those sets

Some of Sonys for that price range can pump out 1500 to 1700 peak brightness which will make HDR gaming incredibly.

Not to mention their tvs have incredibly blacks and color reproduction as well

You could save some money if gaming is real important for you that you want the best HDR performance and get the Sony 930E in 55 inches for about 400 less than that price or the 65 for a few hundred more than $2k

If movie watching and games are both equally or gaming just a perk for the new set than go with LGPS4 | jamiedallaireComment

So far, good! Any recommendations for calibration? I followed rtings settings for regular calibration, but they have nothing for HDR movies and gaming.PS4 | jamiedallaireComment

You guys are saying the TCL P series is best for budget/gaming? My 4 sons want the One X for Christmas but we don't have a 4K TV. I went to BestBuy tonight and was very impressed with the LG OLED. I'm just not buying the kids that kind of TV.Being kind, one to another, never disappoints.Comment

This is my next purchase an OLED. I’m tired of LEDs limitations. Nothing comes close to the blacks on OLED TVs.

What’s the deal with this B7? They say it’s the same picture quality of all the other models but something about it not doing Dolby Atmos?
