Both are VA panels, so neither have great viewing angles compared to IPS panels.

SBN, thanks for the info and the links. I'm getting more leery of getting a door buster TV the more I read. I'm willing to go over $500, up to around $800, but get a good deal.

Is there any way to tell if the TV gives off that live, almost 3D look when watching shows and movies? I've seen a few in people's homes and that freaks me out.

If you go to $899 you can get the Samsung MU8000 55”, that’s probably one of the best deals out there.

Probably thinking of the "soap opera effect". It's usually a setting on the TV called motion smoother, or true motion, or some kind of BS that 99% of people dislike and should turn off.

I wonder if they'll have Dolby Vision, because I don't believe they have it in their 2017 lineup.

According to my conference call, Samsung is more in HLG than DV.

I wish Samsung would just start making OLEDs already.

Isn’t that what the QLED is? OLED is LG and QLED is Samsung?

OLED is vastly superior to QLED. QLED is just Quantum dot LED which is Samsung’s branding of LED. Still has tons of limitations and no where near the Black levels of OLED. It’s obvious Samsung named it QLED to complete with OLED and get people to buy it, but it didn’t work since they’re going back to FALD TVs. Even Sony got into the OLED market. This is why I don’t understand why Samsung doesn’t get into the OLED tv market.
