The best OLED from 2017 is the B7a

PQ similar on all models but the b7a of all of the OLED has the higher nits of brightness. Not by a lot but enough to notice.

        And you save money

The C8 or B8 at least for gaming is not as good.

Also note that the C8 and B8 OLED models have higher input lag numbers in HDR over last years B7 C7 models

All the OLEDs used the same panels, same processor from 2017. Only difference was soundbars/aesthetics..

Lol the input lag is laughable...

              B7 - 21.4
              C7 - 21.3
              B8 - 21.3
              C8 - 21.1

So actually better input lag numbers, not worse

Check again, those are SDR input lag numbers...in HDR the new OLED get about 29ms

Last years are better and the difference in chip irrelevant in real world viewing

Best thing about the new C8 line is the BFI but that comes at the cost of dimmer screen.

If you can get the B7 cheaper that is the superior buy

Due to better input lag in HDR.

Yea that is true but the brightness is better on the B7A

These are all listed on RTINGS and you can do a quick google search to verify if you doubt

Actually guys I found the c8 on sale and went with the 55”. I also got the LG SK10Y soundbar to go along with it. I might get the wireless rear speakers but have no found them here yet in the Philippines. Was gonna go a true Dolby atmos setup but I want to go for a minimalist setup as much as I can.

Would have went 65 but i couldn't justify spending another g for 10 inches plus it'll be in a smaller living room.

So this will be my first OLED and really don't know much about the tech but have heard about the burn in possibilities and was wondering if anyone can link info or give advice to avoid this issue.

Excited, can't wait to plug in my xbox one x and run RDR 2 on it.

I have the B7 for the bedroom and it’s an amazing tv. Picture quality will be almost identical to the C8 but a lot cheaper. I game on my OLED all the time and never had any burn in.

I cannot find that tv anywhere here in Philippines and online retailers were selling the c7 more than the c8 at a local electronic store in Manila so it was a no brainer.

My neighbor just bought the LG c8 and i wanted to see it in person so I went over and we played XBOX and PS4 consoles on it. PRO AND X and I was blown away at the improved brightness in HDR game mode.

This is due to Dynamic Tone Mapping that is available in game mode this year.

That improves the brightness big time and Madden 19 in my test game of Giants at Eagles night game where in my B7a the game is unplayable due to the dim screen. Funny thing is that most games look great on the b7a in HDR game mode due to either the devs not injecting 4000 nits into the game or having the hdr sliders like COD WW2

But Madden injects 4000 nits and that is why in OLED and even LED tvs the brightness suffers in Madden.

With the LG C8 and this years LG models of OLED they activated Tone Mapping in HDR which you can toggle on or off and it fixes the dim issues in that Giants at Eagles night game. It looks stunning now

The B7a and last years models do not have tone mapping in HDR game mode but you can buy HD Fury to inject a proper nit level to games so that the OLED dim screen in game hdr is fixed but that is another 400 dollars being spend on Fury

C8 is stunning and I am now looking to sell my b7a and get the c8

To bad RTINGS claims HDR game mode has input lag of 29ms compared to SDR in 21ms

But other sites report it is 21ms for both sdr and hdr.

Maybe RTINGS had a bug in their test?

I think I am going to go the Sony A9F I was liking the 77 LG C8 one but the price is a little more I want to spend. I think I will get the Sony sound bar too for $1400. And try to keep it under $7000 total but that 77 LG is tempting too. I am going to bestbuy tomorrow with my wife and kids and see what they think. lol. Thanks for your help Scott.
