Thanks Joe and Scott for the feedback. I did take the VRR into consideration with the Q80. Went to BBY with my wife yesterday and we checked out all the sets we were considering and the 950G won out for us just due to the more natural look and of course the X1 Ultimate processor too for the upscaling.

We even got to go into one of our Magnolia sections where they had the 950G, Q80, and 900F right next to each other to kinda see what they look like.

IlThe one thing I do dislike about the 950G is how I feel it’s like at least $200 or so overpriced.

We will check it out and see how things go. We have till I think 1/14 if we don’t end up liking it. What is drawing me to the Q80 is the VRR, the picture actually I thought wasn’t as natural as the 950G especially if you are someone that watches a lot of movies.

I did also a comparison of rtings with both sets and the Q80 does seem to win out.

I wish the 77” OLEDs were at a decent price, those for sure look like such a step above LED. I guess 2019 was pretty stagnant year for TV tech.

I’ve seen the C9 77 inch for $2800 online.. still pricey but a lot cheaper than usual.

In case you didn't know, LG will do a 1 time repair/replacement for any OLED no matter if it's out of warranty or not for Image Retention or Burn-In.

Here's the number to call if you want to start the process.

When they get released, you're looking at probably $20-$30K. Remember how much OLEDs were when they first released? That price. We'll be lucky if there's a single one sometime this next year, you're probably looking at 2021-2023. The Samsung Wall TV is a Micro-LED, it's fully custom order and pricing varies. I know someone did one on AVSForums, he did the smallest version and it was 146" and cost $400,000

OK, looks like I'm going to be one of the first installations of the consumer version of Samsung's The Wall. I believe there have been just a handful of consumer installs recently or on-going. This MicroLED display has been shipping already for commercial cinema, but they just started shipping...

I am thinking more like 2025 for Micro Led. Samsung delaying it and QDLED is going to be next for them.

That long wow that sucks because OLED seems to have burn in issues but a better picture then like any thing out there.

OLED doesn’t really have issues anymore. Next thing will be just HDMI 2.1, which the LG OLEDs already have. Unless you’re watching CNN 20+ hours a day, you’re in the clear.

Basically with 2.1 you will be able to do 4k 120hz when consoles or gpu's start to have 2.1 in their cards and consoles

Next xbox and ps5 will have hdmi 2.1 and so will the next batch of GPU

at that point any OLed from this year and going forward will be able to do 4k 120hz which is amazing

I got a Samsung RU8000 on Black Friday.

Bit disappointed in the viewing angles, as it tapers off significantly if not looking head on...I was able to correct it some thru the settings but still, a tad disheartening.
