Ok - one more post on TV selection.

Office setup - PS5, roughly 6-8 hours a week, maybe some Netflix/TV, it will not be used a ton. Mostly just PS5. I'm not willing to spend over $800 given the limited use.

I'm roughly 4 to 5' viewing distance, I have room for a 55", but at that distance, I was thinking a 49" would work best, options are limited at that size though. Here's my options:

49" Sony X900F Open Box - display model, no mount (but I'll wall mount it anyways) - $390. I know it doesn't have HDMI 2.1, but it does support 1440p/120Hz, and has excellent ratings on rtings for HDR, no VRR is an issue.

    55" TCL 6 Series - $650 right now

49" Sony X900H - HDMI 2.1 (eventually), but worse HDR than X900F, and 3x the price currently.

Thoughts? Lean towards 6 series, but it's tough to say no to $390 for a Sony (even if it is two years old).

I've had a 55" X900F for about two years now, and it's been an absolute please to look at. I still love it and have no intention of even thinking about another TV right now. The HDR is excellent for games and movies. It's one of the few TV's that isn't super high end that can do MLB The Show's HDR justice.

Of course this is one man's opinion. Scott suggested it as one of the TV's I should get back then, and I couldn't be happier.

900H if you’re wanting to take advantage of next gen consoles. 900F if not.

There is my dilemma, a 900H is only available in 55" and up. 55" is barely going to fit where I'm putting it, and I'm afraid it will be too big at a 5' viewing distance. That and it's 3x the price.

I'd prefer actual HDR (I'm on a old Samsung with 350 nits right now) and solid 4k/60 more than anything, or at least I think, I've never had console gaming at 4k/120HZ.

I will probably think about a new TV since I'm getting a Series X just to take full advantage of the system.

I think I'm gonna go LG Oled this time.

Wanted to ask you tech gurus if this tv would cover what I need for the PS5 and XSX before I purchase? Is there a much better option for around the same price range? Thank you in advance.

Once you go OLED you’ll never want to go back to LED/LCD ever..

I have a 65 C9 and it’s an amazing tv for gaming. It already comes with HDMI 2.1 as well..

Torn between the LG CX and the Samsung Q90. Also torn on size between 55/65”. If I go 65 I’m going to have change the whole cave around to include getting rid of 4 chair recliner set. I’m guessing the LG is the better buy?

Bro them LCDs don’t hold a candle on oled. They get brighter for HDR, but the HDR still looks a little better on the OLEDs because if the perfect blacks. Once you go OLED you’ll never want to go back trust me. The black levels and pop are on another level. I have a 65 in the living room and a 55 in the bedroom. Now wish I would’ve went 77 in the living room lol.. Plus the OLEDS come with HDMI 2.1 on all ports and have Dolby Vision which Samsung doesn’t have. They also are G-Sync compatible which Samsung also doesn’t have.

After several months of research, I've made up my mind up to go with the 77" LG CX. It's a little too expensive for me now, but I'm hoping it goes down to $3K either on Prime Day or Black Friday. In the photo below, I've measured the 77" compare to my 55".
