Re: LCD or OLED? - The TV Thread

If the savings is important, then yes pick up the 900H. The video processing and motion will be much better with the Sony. You will lose the black level and contrast with the 900H. Color accuracy, I will give Sony the slight edge.I'm thinking about canceling my order for the 77" CX and going with the Sony 75" 900h. From what I've seen, the 900h will be getting 4K 120, VRR, and eArc via future firmware updates and It's a lot cheaper, almost two grand cheaper! Someone give me a reason to spend almost 2 grand more on the CX than the 900h. The main thing I don't like about the 900h is the back design, it has a fat cheap looking back.

HDR and Dolby Vision will be brighter on the Sony then the LG due to technology (LED vs OLED)

I cannot speak to gaming and response time during gaming. Sorry

Re: LCD or OLED? - The TV Thread

The only other possibility I can think of is your HDMI cables may not be offering the full bandwidth for HDR/Dolby Vision. It sounds like your AVR is 4k/HDR/Dolby Vision...

Upgrade your cables, and run everything into your AVR and out into HDMI3 or HDMI4 which ever input has the Earc logo on your TV.

Here are probably the best cables you can get.

Yup you are probably right. Everything is solved now. I just got a bose soundbar. Everything is working good now. Thanks for the help everyone. The only other possibility I can think of is your HDMI cables may not be offering the full bandwidth for HDR/Dolby Vision. Re: LCD or OLED? - The TV Thread

I set the delivery date for my 77" LG to Nov 20. I am not prepared to have it installed at the moment. I have a floating shelf that holds my game consoles and other electronic devices. I would have to remove that shelf for the new TV and I have nowhere to place my electronics besides sit them on the floor.
I am waiting for a TV console to come back in stock on Wayfair, it's schedule to be back in stock on Nov 10th and hopefully shipped to my home within 3 - 5 days.Xbox Series X: KILLMUNGERComment

GX is all aesthetic. It’ll be thinner and looks better on a wall, also includes a wall mount but doesn’t include a stand.

Re: LCD or OLED? - The TV Thread

I canceled my order for the 77" CX and bought the 65" GX and saved $1200. $4000 is just too much for me to pay for a TV. Also, I think 77" is too big for my medium size room, 65 should be just right. The price jump from 65" to 77" is so large!Last edited by Americas Team; 10-22-2020, 08:11 PM.Xbox Series X: KILLMUNGERComment

Yeah, it's real difficult for LGD to get that perfect 77" panel.PSN-Shugarooo

A couple small differences, beside the build. The GX has better speakers 4.2 and it has NEXTGEN TV (ATSC 3.0), which gives you 4K 120 over the air in some areas.Xbox Series X: KILLMUNGERComment

Re: LCD or OLED? - The TV Thread

Good call, no one should be using TV speakers nowadays though. As far as ATSC 3.0, here is the deployment guide: https://www.atsc.org/nextgen-tv/deployments/PSN-Shugarooo
