    Re: Dexter (Season 6)

I'm disappointed that whole Brian situation wrapped up so quickly. I figured that was going to carry us through the second half of the season. I mostly enjoyed the episode though. It was a pretty nice change of pace.

Also, I feel like even though they wrapped up this episode quicker than I thought they would, there's still going to be some lasting effects of it. My feeling is that this trip to Nebraska is at some point going to come back to be what gets Dexter caught. He was out of control with Brian at his side and left a trail with the girl at the store and Jonah's neighbor knowing/seeing him, leaving Jonah alive, and not disposing of that one guy's body the way he usually does.

My theory is that the big twist of this season isn't whether or not Professor Gellar is imaginary or not, but that Deb finds out about Dexter and the Nebraska road trip puts Miami Metro on his trail, making the 7th season the final one.

Brian was on fire throughout the entire episode. I miss him already. I'll take him any day over dull old Harry.

Yeah, Brian was pretty awesome. I loved that one line, "You don't turn the other cheek, you just slice it".

I still like Harry though. The scene where Dexter meets up with Harry again was great and pretty strong I thought.

Brian permeated the episode, which I didn't mind because I saw his exit coming.
He had a lot of good one liners and was funny, but I'm glad we're back to Harry.

The sex scene with the girl in the store was a little too much and a little unrealistic.

For me, it's been the best season. As I stated before Rita and the kids slowed the pace of the show down, and last year the scenes with Lumen were a mixed bag, mostly boring.

At first I didn't like the death of Mos Def, because his character was so likable, but his mentoring of Dexter had outlived it's usefulness. There wasn't too much left to do other than to keep him alive and reduce his screen time.

Personally I feel this season still doesn't touch Season 4, but obviously that can change.

I still think it's been a good/decent season, but that can change as well.

The scary part is, I really really like the season, but I still think its fourth because 4, 1, and 2 were that good, as well. It'll be interesting to see where it sits at the end.

It's a good season and the fact that it's hard to see where it sits with 4 and 1 is a good sign for the series.

I personally wasn't a huge fan of 2. Not that I hated it, but I just didn't like the whole love triangle deal. Doakes of course saved that season for me.

                    I found 3 better than 2, but that's me.

I think 2 is a lot closer to 3 than it is to 1 on my rankings, but I'd still put it above it because Dexter/Doakes > Dexter/Miguel/Skinner.

I feel like this season will go right behind 1 and 4 for me, which as you said, is an awesome thing for the show.

The middle episode is usually the "liftoff" episode in this series.....I think we are in for some good ones...

2 was definitely a strong season, but I think it kind of suffers in replay value. The big appeal of that season was The Bay Harbor Butcher storyline and not really knowing what would happen, so of course re-watching it you already know what to expect.

Obviously the same can be said for every season, but I find myself enjoying the 1st and 4th season almost as much as I did when I seen them for the first time. You could actually say the 4th season gets better with a second viewing IMO.

                            For me it's:

                            4
                            1
                            2
                            3
                            5

So far 6 is looking to be between 3 and 5 but it could very well surpass 3 or fall below 5 depending on how these remaining episodes play out.

I pretty much agree with this, although I can flip flop on 3 and 5.

I'm with ya. 5 before 3 though, I hated 3 for some reason (as much as I can hate a show I love.)

This so far has been #3 on my list though, but it could be because anuthing with dark religious overtones and subjects is right up my alley.
