I'm getting a 16 GB by chance, because my mom picked up an extra when going to the store for my brother-in-law to get it when he was working. ABC Warehouse only had 13 available, 1st come-1st serve, one per customer. My mom had my sister nab one, and I guess it's mine if I want to pay for it. I didn't even know about this until a couple days ago, lol.

I really want a 32 GB though. Anyway to pay the difference and expand the memory? Doubtful I'm sure.

I don't know how much I'll use this, but for 100 bucks it's not bad for my first tablet.

My SMB order still hasn't shipped, I guess I'll have to wait for them to make new ones.

Nope but check your local HHGregg. You might get lucky if you go there.

digitimes claims HP will make up to 200k more for late october. Not that much more considering their initial shipment of around 800k sold out almost immediately once the price dropped. This new batch won't last a day.

Hewlett-Packard (HP) plans to launch a second sales promotion for its 9.7-inch TouchPads in late October in an attempt to clear out inventories of components in the supply chain, according to industry sources.

I'm interested in what happens with Android on it, but I'm also leaning towards flipping it towards an ipad 2 soon.

they got the multitouch working, so it shouldn't be too long now.

I got a 32 GB from hhgregg, so my sister is just keeping the 16.

I love that all Touchpad owners get 50 GB of online cloud storage FREE!

I'm already filling mine with all my documents and pictures that I own.

I have a hypothetical question. For the less scrupulous who may acquire downloaded movies, music, TV shows, emulated games, etc. from less than legal means, is there a risk of penalty when uploading to your own cloud storage account? Or would it be wise for that person to use it solely for picture and document storage?

which means it'll be from the new batch. Since they're supposedly only making 100-200k, I wonder if this means that they're only going to try to fulfill orders made on their website and potentially sell whatever is left through there for brief seconds.

I don't see how any trickle out to retail in a run this small, which will keep the ebay prices up too.

Ok seriously **** HP, after they i got the e-mail that my touchapd was shipping in 6 to 8 weeks they released the hold on my debt card. then it got renewed today. I called them about it and their policy is to keep the hold on until it ships so essentially its dead money for me and them for 3+ months. No wonder HP is getting out of consumer electronics, the consumers must ****ing hate them. This is the 1st and last time i buy anything directly from HP.

The last I heard, starting on the 28th they are giving their employees first crack at the new batch.

It's not very often I get to write that it's a good day to be an HP employee. But it's also not everyday that HP employees are offered some of the last TouchPads. The company is set to release a final batch of the $99/$149 HP TouchPads to employees starting September 28th at 9:00am PDT. This is per an email I received from an HP employee (embedded after the jump), which notes TouchPads are available on a first come, first serve basis and employees are only allowed to buy one TouchPad -- which some will likely list on ebay where TouchPads are currently selling for over $200. The sun is setting on the TouchPad's life and HP is likely ready to move forward, thoroughly burned by their venture into the land of the iPad.
