They are probably just hoping someone bites. They throw it out there not expecting to sell it, but will have no problem giving it up for 300 bones.

Oh and I talked to a supervisor(my future brother in law) who works at a Best Buy in Texas. They are receiving a shipment today of these.

walmart sucks for refusing to price match their own website. It lists the case at $19 but is OOS online, the stores still sell it for $49.

Thats crazy man... they should take notes from HP and lower the price. Maybe they missed it. BB and HP couldnt sell it for 300+ but they think they can?

HP is one insane company. They're now bringing the Touchpad back from the dead.

Despite announcing an end to manufacturing webOS hardware, we have decided to produce one last run of TouchPads to meet unfulfilled demand,” HP spokesman Mark Budgell wrote in a company blog post. “As we know more about how, when, and where TouchPads will be available, we will communicate that here and through e-mail to those who requested notification.”

Budgell says it will be a few weeks before devices from the additional run will be available for purchase.

For the lucky people that have been able to get one of these, the Android modding community is working on getting the Android operating system working on these touchpad through a dual boot system. That would remove the obsolete WebOS problem facing owners.

I actually like WebOS for what it is. The cards interface is slick and it's a more refined experience than android. Some of the speed problems of the touchpad are easily fixed with tweaks and slight overclocking. I don't like how it caches websites though, and Android obviously has infinitely more apps.

Sounds like Samsung is interested in buying WebOS, so it may live on in some form yet again.

Just saw on the local news that HP is still going to produce more of the touchpad. I guess they have plenty components to ditch.

i got an e-mail that my HP order was canceled last wednesday and the hold was taken off my credit card. Then today my card got charged again for both the order that i made before the cutoff and the order made after the cutoff and they both now show up as active on the HP website. Maybe they really are going to send them.

There is a small rumor that Best Buy is holding their Touchpads for this weekend.
