    Re: The Office: Season 8

The mocking of Andy was misguided - it's not like he could've fought back.

The exchange between the teen girl and Pam was great. As quick as it was, it's probably the first Pam-related bit I've really liked in a while.

      Funny episode last night.

Temporarily moving some characters to Florida have brought some new life into this show.

"Wireless will be available in 2013." Got a good laugh out of that. Spader leaving I don't see as a major event. His character was just weird. Don't know what they are gonna do next but I will miss the show if it goes of air.

When the series finale inevitably comes how do you think they will handle the documentary crew?

Will the series end because the crew decides they have enough footage? Maybe something important is happening and they just shut down production and leave it as a series cliffhanger.

Maybe the series ends and then the picture zooms out to a TV showing the scene we just watched. The TV show ends and it's either called The Office or some alternate name. Perhaps the entire cast is gathered together watching the finale 10-15 years in the future giving closure to their characters. (Say they're all in Michael Scott's house and his kids are there, CeCe & both Phillips are there, etc.)

Then again, maybe they just ignore the documentary aspect and just end it like any other show.

Yea Spader was cool in the episode where he interviewed for the job.

But once they made him a regular he was just some weird guy, I don't even know how to describe him.

I thought up until this latest the show had been holding its' own. I thought this latest installment was sort of disjunct and had some odd interchanges.

Thought it picked up a little last night. Not great, but funny enough. I really like the Nellie character, so as long as they keep coming up with reasons for her to stick around I'm happy.

                    But where's Cathy?

I really hate the Nellie character. I thought it was one of the least funny episodes in a long time. I can't think of a single time when I actually laughed out loud.

Yeah I was not feeling last night's episode much. I think it was just a coincidental conglomeration of my least favorite characters. The Erin/Andy storyline does not interest me one bit (nor do I find their humor entertaining) and the two boss characters (Nellie and California) are just . . . there. I haven't been able to put together as to why they're on the show.

I don't like Andy's character very much. He seems to have completely morphed away from who he used to be. People change over time, but I'm not sure like that.

Unless something happens in the remaining episodes to completely change the course this show appears to be on, I don't think I can bring myself to watch another season. It's fallen off so drastically. Sad.

Strongly agree, which is why I don't like him at all as the boss. Didn't like Jim in the boss role either, and don't like how Jim & Pam have changed character-wise over time either, but I still like them, just in a different way.

I was actually rooting for the Harvey Keitel boss rumor.

I think she would have fit in on the British version, but in the US version she has to go.

Add me to the list of people that didn't really like last nights episode. The Andy thing wasn't funny at all, it actually game off as stupid to me. Why wouldn't he take vacation days? Nellie=FAIL IMO.
