The reason I don't mention it is the fact that I simply haven't delved into it past a couple of songs, but I did like what I heard of it, especially Handcuffs. I'll have to give it a listen straight through. But as far as stylistically, I appreciate both, really, for me YFW is a fun listen simply because it reminds me of my first experiences with listening to the rock genre, if you can call it that (When I rode the bus as a middle schooler, the pop radio station was always on, and they'd play some of that pop-punk style of music, mostly Blink 182, Sum 41 and Simple Plan) so that style still appeals to me. But, on the other hand, I also appreciate the style they played on Deja and what I've heard from The Devil and God. So, honestly, I enjoy both.

Re: Official Rock music thread
I just received this picture book called "A Year As A Ghost" detailing The Wonder Years' last year on tour. Included lyric notes and tons of wacky pictures showing their tour hijinks and song inspirations. Blasted through like half of it last night, obviously while rocking out to their music.
Those dudes are so real. It always shone through in their lyrics and sound, but seeing pictures of places they've described/referenced within their song just makes it all come alive. I've never actually heard someone say a bad thing about them. It's a bonus that they're relatively local to me, from Lansdale, PA.
Best $25 I ever spent and 5 month wait I ever waited. And got a free rare b-sides download code. S-s-s-score!Kenny Bell with quote of the year: "I would play for Bo Pelini against Satan himself and a team of demons at the gates of the underworld."Comment

That's awesome, man. I heard that those got delayed for a while, glad to see they're finally getting shipped. I feel broke as hell for not being able to pick one up myself, I thought about placing a pre-order way back when I first heard about it but decided against it. I love these guys, their lyrics are so honest and easy to relate to. Definitely the best pop-punk band out right now. (at least imo)
I feel stupid for not paying the extra $10 and getting the t-shirt!
Yeah man, definitely my top band going right now. They're consistently atop my weekly plays on my last.fm. I missed their date up in Philly with Yellowcard & We Are The In Crowd and I hate myself for not being able to catch them live. But they've got a b-sides album releasing soon and a new full album in late spring/early summer of '13. Can't friggin' wait!NHL - Philadelphia Flyers

I'm imagining McCartney singing "Rape Me" in his normal singing voice and it's making me laugh.Comment

Re: Official Rock music thread
So they went with a new song. And it was good.
When he opened with Helter Skelter I knew he was up for it. The man can still steal a show. Waters, Clapton, The Who, Billy Joel were all good. I've never been a Bruce fan, but he was alright. Bon Jovi was whatever. The Stones should just stop.
Never have been a Coldplay fan, but Chris Martin is certainly a talented guy. Was cool to see Michael Stipe come out and do acoustic Losing My Religion with him.Last edited by ImTellinTim; 12-13-2012, 02:49 AM.Comment

Good pop-punk bands. Been dominating my plays this week. Well, right there with Handguns and The Wonder Years.
Speaking of which, The Wonder Years are coming to my city in late March with Fireworks, Misser, and Hostage Calm. Tickets are only like 13$... Totally jumping on that when my account recovers from Christmas shopping. Stoked on it!NHL - Philadelphia Flyers
