I just finished Prison Break. Fun, thrilling show. The plot was utterly ridiculous at times, but I still enjoyed the hell out of the show. Definitely recommend it.

Heroes was another show that had a great first season then went off the rails.

This is next on my list after I get caught up on New Girl (just signed up for a trial with Hulu to get caught up). I just finished Peaky Blinders Season 2 a couple weeks ago and I just love the show.

I watched "Beasts of No Nation" last night, man what a messed up movie about a messed up situation. It was well made though and the main kid is quite a little actor. Im glad it had subtitles or i wouldn't have understood it nearly as well.

Starting Bloodline season 1. It hasn't caught me yet after 2 episodes yet but I always give a show at least 4. I do appreciate the good acting though.

I think I'm at 3rd or 4th episode and the intensity is definitely ramped up. Settling in now.

I just got around to watching V/H/S

Pretty good horror film. Not really super scary but definitely a few creepy parts.

Bloodline takes a few episodes to get going in the first season, but it is really good, IMO. Seasom 2 was excellent, too, which was great because I wasn't sure where they were going to take it after the end of season 1.

Yeah, I like the series but The first episode of season 3 was tough to get through. Too much wedding and too much conflicted Arthur.

As usual with his recent work, the songs are pretty spot-on/comical, while the bits in between are hit or miss.

Re: What's good to watch on Netflix

I watched this movie today, it's called "Before I Disappear."

It's basically a full length version of the academy award short film called "Curfew." Same writer/director/lead actor (one person, same guy) and same girl who plays his niece, apparently she's the voice of Dora The Explorer.

If you want to gauge whether or not you might like it just check out the short film on YouTube (Curfew).

It's not as good as it could be. The main dude isn't much of an actor and his overly-angst-apathetic moping mannerisms get a little old. The dialogue is a little forced. It's really artsy, tries really hard to pile on the imagery and metaphors. Could have been a story with a lot of heart, but the heart only comes through genuinely a few times. I feel it could be a powerhouse emotional film if there was a real actor/at least better actor leading the way. Kind of falls apart at certain moments due to trying way too hard to be artsy at the cost of just not making sense

I give it a 6 out of 10. Best part is the soundtrack. Some solid songs power the films better scenes.

If you think you can dig an art house/independent film about a drug addicted suicidal hipster babysitting his niece for a night that seemingly never ends, and maybe get to at least enjoy some music along the way, check it out. The short film is really good, much better in overall feel in that format.
