Re: What's good to watch on Netflix

We just finished Penny Dreadful on Showtime Anytime, but I saw that the first two seasons are now on Netflix. The beginning starts off a little slow, but things really pick up midway through the first season and take off from there. The acting is pretty damn good, particularly from Eva Green. I don't know she didn't get a Emmy Nomination.... I was a fan of both Timothy Dalton and Josh Harnett going in and they do a great job, as well. I'd recommend it to anyone who likes horror type shows.

Now that we finished that we're deciding on which show to watch next. It's between Rectify and Bloodline. I still want to watch Peaky Blinders at some point, as well.

Bloodline is sooooo good. So well done with the set pieces/pacing, and phenomenal acting. Ben Mendelssohn just kills it. Season 1 sets the tone well, but Season 2 just takes off full bore, and that finale was how you do a season finale (take note TWD). I am already itching for Season 3 due to it. Wanted it as soon as the finale ended!!!

Just looked up Rectify... *added to Watch List*

I don't know too much about Rectify, so I can't really vouch for it personally. In the past I have seen it on some of the Top Shows on Netflix rankings and it has 5 stars on Netflix, so it sounds promising.

Also, I have a thing for Abigail Spencer and that automatically moves Rectify towards the top of my Watch List.

A little OT but did you guys see something about it's now a federal crime or something to share Netflix accounts?

It's not a federal crime to share Netflix accounts. Netflix supports sharing accounts.

All you're seeing is clickbait article headlines because of a guy that gave access to a business database to a former employee, while said former employee was in the process of launching a competing firm.

            That's a no-no.

Rectify is really good. Can't wait for the final fourth season this fall on Sundance. It will be some time before Netflix gets it-they don't have season three yet.

Penny can be worthwhile albeit a bit over the top at times. The actor who plays The Monster is very good. I've never seen him before.

Peaky Blinders S03 was curious at first. I didn't know if they could pull off the drastic change-ups but it definitely works. Tom Hardy supporting your efforts usually doesn't hurt. He was fantastic in his scenes. The only thing I've found a bit overdone with Peaky are the dramatic walk-outs by the given groups. That's getting old.

3/4 of the way through the first episode of Stranger Things, and man I am really digging this.

The music is so early 80's sci-fi retro. They did a phenomenal job on the set pieces, wardrobe, hairstyles, etc.. You can tell special care was taken for the attention to detail.

Hitting such nostalgic vibes from being a kid back then.

Well, after 5 episodes and sleep that consumed me, this show is fantastic.

It just feels so right to the times. How the local police act, kids going on their own investigations, etc.. All the things that we were allowed to get away with, that truly were not really harmful. Shows how 'locked down' we are now compared to then. And where have imaginations gone? Youth consumed by smart devices today, pale compared to what we had to do back then to entertain.

So stoked to watch the final 3 later.

Holy Shnikes was EP1 of Stranger Things awesome!
And those who said it's very Spielberg-esque weren't kidding. If it weren't for the credits, I would have bet my last dollar he was involved.

                        Can't wait for EP2 tonight!

Couldn't agree more. My brother and I say this all the time.
We coach baseball and it's amazing how these kids, who've been playing for 7-9 years still don't get force-outs, or simple rules.
All they talk about in the dugout is Halo and other video games.
If us parents weren't forcing them into sports, they'd be inside and plugged-in 24/7.

I could play for hours with a ball and bat, or my bike, or with GI Joes, or comic books.
You were forced to use your imagination. We didn't have Siri to tell us what to do.
