The whole Pam/Jim/Roy thing is revisited with Ann/Mark/Andy. The April character is a different take on Kelly. Really hard to watch this show without connecting the dots to The Office, down to the creator and writers. Of course, I really liked The Office so I am enjoying this one also.
Overall I think Parks and Rec is the better show and maintains it's quality more consistently until the final episode.

I watched the first episode of Ash vs. Evil Dead. I'm gonna have to watch more - loved the first episode.

Yeah, pretty much. The earlier seasons of The Office were great.

Minus season 1, because the Michael Scott character was so objectionable I wanted to fight him.

Also, if you guys like the trend of The Office and Parks n Rec, don't forget about Superstore, Lauren Ash plays the perfect female Dwight Schrute

Yeah, I think I remember not liking him very, very early. I cannot remember if it was the entire first season.

The greatest decision The Office writers made was grinding off those "objectionable" edges.

Watching Michael C. Hall's new show: Safe.

4 episodes in and its pretty good so far. It's a thriller mystery and its getting more tense every episode.

Re: What's good to watch on Netflix

A bit deeper into Parks and Rec and I have to say it's been a little hit or miss for me. I feel like they've spent way too much time on the Ben-Leslie relationship dynamic. That whole plot line and running for office has sort of been a buzzkill, imo. Chris Traeger being super happy and now super depressed is a little annoying also. Ultimately, I'm not sure whether adding Adam Scott and Rob Lowe to the cast, and dropping Paul Schneider (this show's Jim Halpert), was a good thing. Or whether having/adding more recurring, idiosyncratic bit players (the Oscars and Angelas and Erins and Kevins and Stanleys) would have been better.

Ron Swanson, over-the-top Tom Haverford/Jean Ralphio scenarios, Donna's champagne tastes, and Andy's man-child silliness are the highlights of this show for me. Amy Poehler can also really carry a show. But, I think The Office had higher highs and was a better show overall (until Steve left).

I thought they had great chemistry but wished that they "rockied up" their relationship a little more.

I was kind of glad they didn't go for the melodrama like The Office did at times with Jim and Pam.

Best thing Will Smith has done in a while.

I thought the Jim-Pam thing was overdone at times, too. But, I also thought the relationship itself was a bit more authentic compared to the Leslie-Ben thing. It seemed like the writers at Parks and Rec were just like, ok we've written you two (Ben and Leslie) with similar personality traits so you will be getting together in a romantic relationship now. I also think that Jenna Fischer and John Krasinski are better at doing that type of acting than Amy Poehler and Adam Scott, who are stronger with comedy. I almost wish they had kept Leslie Knope single and focused on her hijinx and neurotic quirks that allowed her to be so high functioning at her job. The Ann Perkins/Karen Filipelli character (basically the same character role for Rashida Jones) provided enough relationship drama for the entire show.
