Re: Official "I want to build a New PC!" Thread
Alright replayed some games. Highly impressed with the RTX 2080ti. Ray tracing is the real deal. Replayed Modern Warfare and yeah, it look totally different. Even more impressed with how quiet the RTX 2080ti is compared to the GTX 1080 I had. When I would play The Division 2 and Breakpoint, the 1080 sound like a jet was about to take off. RTX 2080ti, pretty quiet. I have yet to hear this thing rev up at all.Comment

For around $300 to $350 price range:
ASUS - VG279Q 27" IPS LED FHD FreeSync Monitor - $299
144Hz refresh rate
If you willing to spend about $100 more
Dell - 32" LED Curved QHD FreeSync Monitor with HDR - $379
165Hz refresh rate
https://www.bestbuy.com/site/dell-32...?skuId=6375331AOC is a solid brand but IPS panel is a game changer for me.
For those streaming, what capture card are you using? I see ElGato is the king but I only one I can find is the 4K pci one which is fn expensive.
I do have enough extra parts to build a 2nd pc just to be a streaming pc but would rather get an external one so I can use my gaming laptop as a streaming pc.

I would have bought that Dell, but my wife is already not very pleased with me buying a new graphics card two months after I got my PC lol.Comment

I actually canceled the order for the AOC and ordered the 24 inch version of the 9Q. It's labeled under the TUF brand but from what I have seen it's the same exact monitor, all the same features, just the 24 inch. And it is IPS. Will have it Wednesday.

Re: Official "I want to build a New PC!" Thread
Hey guys,
I've been talking with a former co-worker of mine who actually assembled my first PC build 10-15 years ago. He sent me this part list: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/Macgru...d/#view=XV4bhM
So obviously I can't find that CPU anywhere so I used that as a basis for an AMD build that I threw together this morning. Other than the price points on his list and basic component comparison I'm not sure what the implications are here. I also wasn't sure on CPU cooling since PC Part's own AMD build didn't have any additional cooling.

So I've decided to up my budget to a bit. My goal is to get an additional monitor as well for around (or even better - below) $1500. I would love to have everything in for a build by/on July 4th.

1. That AMD CPU comes with a cooler, which is totally fine if you are not overclocking it.
2. I would get a 750 watt power supply for future proofing in case you ever decide to get a more powerful card down the road then the RTX 2060. That way you won't have to re-do all the power cables connections again.Comment

Yeah definitely get a 750w PS, what a bitch to redo wires again especially if you got it all nicely laid out.
As for a cpu cooler you can get a nice cooler master fan for around 30 bucks and a nice 24” 1080p 144hz monitor around 150 bucks

Re: Official "I want to build a New PC!" Thread
Thanks for the feedback guys. Starting to finally put ducks in a row.
I updated the initial list as well as picking two more:
AMD 7 - https://pcpartpicker.com/user/FreshT...d/#view=zvLQD3
AMD 7ALT - https://pcpartpicker.com/user/FreshT...d/#view=VBQJf7
AMD 5 - https://pcpartpicker.com/user/FreshT...d/#view=hmVp23
Looking at the price difference between the AMD 7 & 7ALT probably not worth even mentioning the alt.
AMD 5 is basically what I had in my mind from the get go as more of a friendlier budget build. AMD 7 I got caught up in ray tracing and some other fun, but expensive sounding things.
I just plugged in a monitor for budget purposes, but haven't really looked anywhere yet.
Basically - the game in mind is Cyberpunk 2077, but I would like to be able to "keep up" for the next 3-4 years before having to worry about replacing the CPU or anything difficult/expensive. Practically speaking I'll probably be playing The Witcher 3 or some older current gen titles more often than anything else (oh and RTS).
I appreciate the help guys!

Was thinking about getting the Alienware 34" ultrawide when I start building my setup. Does anyone have any GPU/full build recommendations that can power a 1440p ultrawide? Or is there another 1440p ultrawide you like more than the Alienware? Thanks!PSN / Xbox GT - BLUEnYELLOW28Comment

Unfortunately hasn’t been officially announced yet, rumors are August though. I just put a 1650 Super in my build, just something cheap until I upgrade.
