    More or less.

Sports games are actually pretty easy to run maxed out, and something a little older like RDR2 will look borderline amazing compared to its console counterparts.

Newer AAA games will need a mixture of Ultra and High settings mostly… What resolution monitor/TV are you planning on playing with?

Overall this is a fairly high end rig. The CPU is about as good as you can get currently, and the GPU is on the lower end of what I would consider high end, so to speak. I actually have the non super version of this same GPU and it has been great for 1440p ultrawide game play.

Keep in mind that the newer gen GPUs are coming out starting in a few months from Nvidia. They’ll be expensive, and possibly supply constrained, but more power for your buck overall.

Not ultra but you can make it still look better than console. 1440p monitor might be something to look into and take advantage of frames at a lower resolution

I can tell you the first thing to consider is the TV and what resolution.

I say this because I had a very fast computer and a 3080 video card and it ran everything on ultra on my 27" monitor.

I upgraded to a 38" monitor and now the 3080 struggles, had to upgrade to a 4080.

I have a 4080 now on my 38" monitor at 3840 x 1600 and I can run Ultra maxed out everything on about 90% of games, but about 10% or so I have to play around with it. It's serviceable though and I am not looking to upgrade anytime soon since most everything does run maxed out at 120Hz.

So I see people answering your questions, all folks giving good answers, but the real question is what you want to run it on, a 27" tv? Heck yeah that computer will do you proper and you'll be happy.

A 55" or so TV? nope, you're going to need a 4080 at minimum, I'd even say a 4090 if you can afford it.

That's my opinion, that PC is a killer PC for a medium sized desk monitor but you go bigger monitor or tv then it won't cut it for you, as others have said you will have to start turning down things until you get to the point you will have wished you just stayed with a console..

Bit of an odd question but...

I have a dual monitor setup with a usb-c hub for my mouse, keyboard, 2 PCs (HDMI), and USB speaker. I can simply connect it to my laptop and I'm good.

I bought a pre-buit tower (which is awesome!!) that has a dedicated GPU.

I was reading about this, curious if anyone's tried it or had experience with it?

Not that one in particular, but KVM switches are very commonly used in engineering jobs where you want to switch between devices but keep one set of peripherals. If that's your use case, a KVM switch is your tool.

Nice to see the prices more or less hold steady to where they fell for the 40 series supers. And the 5090 coming in at “only” $2000 is also sort of a pleasant surprise in its own right. Hopefully stock will be adequate.

I’ll be interested to see how the new feature set plays out. For all the crap people gave frame generation, I have really come to like it. Part of that hate was the initial misleading marketing benchmarks, as well as a confusing naming scheme, but the people crying fake frames were more or less silenced.

I’m interested in maybe flipping my 4070 Ti for the 5070 Ti, but I think I’m going to stick with this GPU a little longer and prioritize an upgrade to AM5 and all that entails. Maybe I’ll do that at some point this year and then jump on Blackwell for the possible super versions next year.

                        Hi

So I'm hoping for a little guidance from people more tech savvy than me. I don't game a ton (1080 or 1440) and was thinking I could get some used parts since I don't want to spend a ton. Here's my current specs:

                        CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600
                        MOBO: ASRock B450M-HDV R4.0 (AM4)
                        Monitor: Dell S2417DG (2560x1440@144Hz)
GPU: 2047MB NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060
                        RAM: 16.0GB Dual-Channel DDR4 @ 1066MHz
                        PSU: 500W

I was looking to upgrade my GPU and after reading found that the 3060 might be a good bet but the RX 6700 XT might be better bang for the buck (I don't care a ton about ray tracing). After upgrading my GPU I probably need a larger power source as well, right? I'd really like to hang onto my CPU, storage and monitor and if possible, the RAM. However, I'd like to have 2 M.2 slots available for my MOBO (instead of the current 1) so eventually I thought I should just buy a new case (it's really old and cramped, Thermal Master?) and frankenstein a new PC together. I don't care about RGB lights or anything like that.

Do you guys have any thoughts? Am I on the right track for GPU?

                        Thanks!
