Better alteration of history would have been if the Cowboys had gotten Marino or Elway. Do we ever see Aikman, Smith, and Irvin on the same team?

It looked like they only had their eyes on Elway. I think that with Elway it would've given Landry a far better send off than the one he had in '88. I do think the kind of conflict that Elway had with Dan Reeves over the rigidity of the playcalling would be present with Landry though Elway probably would've shown Landry a bit more respect than he did Reeves. Offensively the Cowboys would have enough of an offense to be a relevant team and keep them in the playoff hunt year after year while the front office could rebuild the defense.

Having Elway at QB I think the rejuvenation of the Cowboys as a power in the league would've occurred sooner (probably around '88 or so) I do think the team would've been sold eventually though as Murchison was privately looking to get out. Since the Cowboys would be in a far better position that would pretty much slam the door on Jerruh buying the team and it'd probably be sold to someone with more money/higher profile.

Now I see why BK is so pessimistic with the franchise.

I'll throw the Sugar Ray Leonard/Roberto Duran one in there for me too. I actually read up on John Spanos for some random reason about a year ago. Very interested to learn more about that whole situation.

I recently watched the worst 30 for 30 I've seen...it was the one on George Steinbrenner, except it wasn't. The entire thing was like they gave Yankee fans a camera during the 2008/2009 season with sporadic interviews from the Boss thrown in. Awful.

I really liked the Fab Five documentary ESPN did as well. It's a shame Chris Webber wouldn't be in it.

For obvious reasons, the Ole Miss one is my favorite. The truth behind the school, the shame of ignorance, the proud history of the Program. And the Deep South tradition. The narrators voice fit it perfect. Though actually seeing the dork of a guy behind the voice took something away. Lol.
The Fab Five one was pretty awesome. I liked the one about Jordan playing baseball. So much I didnt know. Loved the one on Bartman too.

Can't wait for this one! I lived in Hawaii for a bit and I always came across memorials for him.

What else about this story needs to be said? Maybe it will surprise me, but not on my top much-watch list.

I think my favorite one so far has been the Fab 5 one.

Definitely love this show, really the only ESPN program worth watching anymore.

My favorite was the Bo Jackson one for sure. I was born in 1985, so I was pretty young when the whole "Bo Knows..." thing was going on. I was too young to really have a grasp on everything he was as an athlete. I agree with Gritninja about the mythology of athletes... the "what ifs..." and such. I always wonder how many records Barry Sanders would have shattered if he played for a good team, or even if he stayed on the Lions but didn't hang it up early.

The Bartman one is really the only one I want to see that I haven't. What exactly happened to him? Did he have to go into hiding?

I still think There's No Place Like Home is the worst one (Naismith original rules).

I know this isn't the right thread, but there's a Reggie Lewis special that supposed to air tonight. Does anyone know what channel it'll be on?
