Well based on those numbers, let me do the math. It costs about $7.50 at ticket, if you go to show after 6pm. I'm guessing about $60 million in its 1st weekend. It depends. Movie tickets cost about $9 to $10 in California. That youtube video only shows the fans that have internet access. A lot of fans don't have internet access. That's a rough estimate. I'm sure I'll be wrong. At the box office that's what I think. On YouTube, that video should total about 100 million views.

And you may want to check your ticket prices as well, I haven't payed 7.50 for a movie for about 15 years....Comment

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII
I have heard that the average ticket now is about 8. I don't know if that is day or night or what though. The theater I normal go to is now like 11.5 and like 14.5 for 3d. Days I think are like 9.5 and they do 6 on Tuesdays.Comment

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII
I'm a massive Star Wars fan and can't wait for this. Being born in 1976 I was there for the movie/toy hype and pretty much every toy I owned growing up were Star Wars toys. I remember going to Return Of The Jedi opening day in Waterloo, Iowa with my mom and I was sporting my shirt of the movie. I literally wore out the original VHS box set (before the re-releases) and watched these movies every chance I got in the 80's. Then I got the redone boxed set on VHS and watched them just as many times. Now I have the DVD's and Blu Ray boxed set.
Even though the newer films weren't great overall, they got better and I still enjoy watching them all.
With that being said I am so excited to hear that opening John Williams theme in the theater again. I have a feeling these movies are going to be the stuff all the old-school fans wanted and didn't really get in Episode I and II.
I would have liked to have seen the Timothy Zahn books as a base for the next series of movies but I have faith in JJ Abrams to put out quality stuff.Last edited by Herky; 11-30-2014, 04:07 AM.GT: Herkyalert
