Re: Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015)
I can agree with a lot of this.
I will say...
SpoilerI wish the movie had more of a dark ending. I was hoping that Cap and Iron Man would have ended on a darker tone. With all that Ultron had planned they really could have played up the fissure between those 2. It would have made Ultron even more powerful because they would have had to work together to solve a common problem but still disliked each other. The fact that it ended so conciliatory bothered me lol.
I didn't care for the mushy side story lines.... That ruins alot of movies for me but overall I enjoyed it.Comment

Re: Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015)
Just got out from i and I liked it and had fun but it wasn't better than the first one or Winter Soldier. I think I even enjoyed Guardians of the Galaxy more.
I know its a TV show and probably shouldn't compare but Daredevil is the best thing Marvel has out to date.
Anyway, I'm not disappointed, had some awesome scenes and a lot of good banter just not my fave to come out of the MCU.Jordan Mychal Lemos

Re: Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015)
Saw it last night at a midnight show. Really enjoyed it, although as an old comic fan I was somewhat disappointed with some things. Guess I should spoiler this:SpoilerI was a really big fan of the Vision and I thought he'd be a much cooler character as being played by Paul Bettany. Think if they used a more robotic voice for him or maybe did him in CGI... Just didn't seem as cool as I expected him to be. And don't think they ever explained what his abilities were, other than he has one of the soul gems.
Also thought the design of Ultron would've been more menacing. I guess they were going more for creepy. I liked Spader voicing him but for whatever reason the fact his mouth articulated and he had teeth(?) just seemed weird to me. Not sure how he is in the current gen comics but that wasn't the case back in the day. Also thought the mid-credits scene could've been cooler/stronger - didn't have the impact of the reveal in the the 1st Avengers movie.
Still was an enjoyable movie, I do want to see it again. Even funnier than the first, character development was good despite the huge roster of charactersHBO's "The Wire" should rank as one of the top 10 shows EVER on tv - period

Re: Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015)
It's a credit to just how good most of these Marvel movies (and TV show in Daredevil) have been that you can easily make the argument that there are better movies in this universe than The Avengers.
You mean the Black Widow/Hulk stuff? I personally liked it. Especially with what they did with Hulk at the end.
It slows the story to much and appears like filler contentLast edited by 23; 05-02-2015, 08:46 PM.Comment

Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015)
I enjoyed it because it made me care about Hulk, Widow, and Hawkeye outside of the fact that they can kick ***Saints, LSU, Seminoles, Pelicans, Marlins, LightningComment

I also liked the Hawkeye angle. Didn't expect that at all. Then again I've had a thing for Linda Cardellini since Freaks and Geeks so I may be biased lol.

Re: Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015)
lol when she showed up I was like hey its the cute nerdy girl from freaks and geeks. I thought Hawkeye was great way better then he was in the first movie when it felt like he shouldn't didn't even need to be in the movie. I think he was one of the best things about this movie. I have this as like the 2nd or 3erd best movie in the MCU but I don't think the MCU is even close to as good has people say. TWS is the only great MCU movie. Avengers and avengers AOU are both good, Iron man 3 slightly good and Gardens slightly good. The rest of the MCU movies or ok/bad.Comment

Re: Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015)
I loved the movie and will watch it multiple times but for me, I enjoyed Winter Soldier and Guardians just a little more. That's not to say that AoU sucked. It's a credit to James Gunn and the Russo brothers about how good their movies wereComment

Re: Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015)
And Hulk!!!!! Loved him in the first, beyond his one big scene that's shown in every commercial, I felt like he was a wasted character. Banner was okay, but the Hulk was an after thought and that blows my mind with how popular he was in the first and how he's the only true character without his own movie.
With all that being said, I still enjoyed it, but it didn't do anything the first of didn't do.Comment

Re: Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015)
Here's a few random thoughts I had on the film and decided to spoiler it just in case.
SpoilerThe first one is better in my opinion. This one missed the mark because it was trying to do so much. It's amazing it turned out as well as it did because it could have been an ultimate disaster lol.
I would have loved to see a more focused plot. By that I mean more of a laser focus on certain characters and their relationships(Iron Man and Captain America specifically". This movie suffers from what a lot of marvel movies suffer from.
The people in charge of the movie have to be the slave to many Masters. They are a part of an existing universe so they can't just do whatever they like. And the Avengers movies suffer from this EVEN MORE so than other movies since there are so many heroes in one film.
I wish Whedon would have relegated most characters to background roles and instead focused on Ultron and his plan to destroy the Avengers and earth. Ultron played by Spader to me could have been Kingpin good if he was developed enough. He could have pushed the Avengers much like Joker and Bane did Batman in that trilogy.
That would have helped put this movie in the range of GotG and Winter Solider. Instead we a got a solid movie that tried to be too many things at once. Here's to hoping the Russo brothers aren't pressured to wear so many hats and can just tell a solid story.
This is one of the reasons why I wish these movies had tie in short films for the "lesser characters. " This would give characters like Hulk, Hawkeye, and Black Widow the time they deserve.
I can just imagine how cool it would be to have a fully fleshed out tie in for the love affair between Hulk and Black Widow. Or a short film for Hawkeye and his family. I think a tie in short film is much needed for universes as big as these but I'm sure that's not very realistic. These characters are played by some great actors that to me really sell the roles. The tie in films really would bring out how good these guys are at their roles. Loki or even Fury, after Winter Soldier, getting a tie in would have been nuts. But again thats lot lol. im dreaming here.Comment
