Re: Rocky Spin-off "Creed" in the Works

Some parts were well developed, some I wish were better done. Adonis's relationship with Wood Harris's character seemed like there was more but went nowhere. The son of Apollo's trainer could have had a more dynamic element to the plot. I wish more could have been done with Adonis's mother and Apollo.

I loved the "tale-of-the-tape" card that would pop up when introducing a fighter. Where was Marie? Spider Rico?

The biggest thought this movie created was what a waste Rocky V was. This movie should have been V. The way Rocky was disrespected terribly throughout V was ridiculous, but in Creed, Rocky was doing essentially the same thing for Adonis that he did for Tommy. Throughout Creed, an homage was paid to Rocky's reputation. Which was much more appropriate.

Overall, I liked the movie. Hope there is a second one.

Hey, I love Avon Barksdale too, and I'd like to see more of Wood Harris (Justified was great but Wood's role should have been bigger), but was there that much room in the movie for "the son of Apollo's trainer? Same with the mother...the main relationship was Adonis and Rocky.

If they try to turn this into a trilogy, my guess is we'll here more from the son of the trainer (I'd prefer it in a 3rd movie, rather than the 2nd).

I think he will have a bigger role in the sequel. Keep in mind the fighter that Wood's character was training was supposed to fight the champ in the first movie but got injured. With the champ going to jail, it only makes sense that Adonis will fight him In the sequel.

Not to mention the fact that homie "humbled" Adonis real quick in that ring before he moved to Philly, lol

It was a really good movie. I am a huge Rocky fan. I felt Rocky Balboa helped rid the stench of the abysmal Rocky V. This movie seems like a brand new series has been born.

I hope it keeps going for a few more films.

Excellent point. There is a lot of material here to make many movies, which is fine with me.

To be honest, I hadn't even thought of this. The irony of Adonis competing against the son of his father's trainer () is pretty appealing. Creed has the potential in being an awesome series.

Disappointed Sly didn't win, but Rylance was also great in Bridge of Spies.

Finally watched this. Wow!! It was excellent. I enjoyed every part of it. Can't believe it took me so long. Stallone was great and I'm liking almost everything MBJ is in lately. Would love to see another if not more.

                        Blasphemy!
Rocky V is my fav of the group.
How can you not love a movie that drops a line like "My rings outside."
"Yo, you knocked him down, why don't you try knocking me down now"
                        "This ain't no pie-eating contest"
                        "Only in America"

                        Such a great movie!
